I'm assuming you mean the margarito rematch. Carnal, that was his biggest fight ever. He gave his all. He had to redeem himself, of course he'd be gassed.

All joking aside...Cotto was wrestling pushing margarita backwards and landing combo body shots.
That does tire you.

Interesting how Garcia was arguing with the Dr. that was Margaritas best round don't stop it!
Margarita still got manhandled...he wasn't winning crap.
He lost it on all 3 judges scorecards!!!


If the last round was Margaritas best round then the Dr. was correct to stop it as he was getting starched !!!!!!

Is this the implication of some miraculous comeback by Margarato? Funny how people just parrot what the commentator's say, when actually, Margarato was breaking down, his shoulders slumped with every hit from Cotto in that last round just like the Shane fight. Just look at the fearful distant look in his face when they were discussing the possible stoppage of the fight.

He was making a fearful face that told them "I do not want to fight anymore" (they pay attention the utmost attention to that) even when they stopped it all he could muster up was a fake sounding reaction of displeasure with the stoppage (it's actually comical if you listen) There's a reason that was his last fight, Margarato was broken man after that fight, not only physically, but he probably never knew how much the plaster was helping him until that loss. I think the guy was dumb enough to have thought his wins were mostly him.

 

It's ridiculous, tony wanted out of that fight. He was dominated the whole time.

 

Tony wanted out? Is that why he was laughing, shrugging his shoulders and tapping his eye everytime Cotto threw a punch? He took a much worse beating from Pacman and never looked like quitting, I mean christ, Pac broke bones in his face, what did Cotto do? Swell up his vulnerable eye.
You can argue the stoppage was legit because Tony took so many punches but I don't think you can argue he wanted to quit. I'm sure he went into the fight thinking his best chance was to do the same thing he did in the first fight, pressure Cotto til his gassed then corner him and get a stoppage. I think that was still a possible outcome when the fight was stopped.

 

Don't be ridiculous, he was pleading with the doctor to let him continue just like he did the round before. The fight certainly was getting interesting...

 

They pay far more attention to body language and facial expression than words, it's easy to lie with words, far harder with everything else.

 

HAHAHA! I guess you must know Margarito personally to know how he uses his body language and facial expressions.

 

In the midst of the action they play the role, when they go to the corner the action stops and have to realistically deal with how everything is actually going. That's why it's more common for a fighter to quit in the corner on their stool than in the midst of the action, the adrenaline keeps them going, in the corner reality sets in.
