No, GTFO with that, Floyd was prime 6 years ago and is near prime now

it's due to the advantge of taking long vacations, cherrypicking opponents and having an ultradefensive style of taking little to no damage in the ring for years

Defensive fighters who fight like pussies deteriorate at a much slower rate than aggresive fighters

Floyd might be near 40yo but in boxing years he's like 31

edit: LOL for some reason I read ¨Floyd ¨ instead of Cotto on the title

...don't forget the one-legged gimp and some dude named Delvin. Honestly, tho, I like the way he's looking. I think he would give anybody a good fight. Probably a better option for Mayweather than any other fighter out there now.

He's been fighting less than stellar opposition with exception of Pac and Mayweather. Martinez would have never been able to hang with the past eras elites, cotto is a product of that era so its elementary him beating guys like geale and him. I think cotto has caught a second wind, but wait till you see him vs a live opponent

What few people seem to realize is that he is in his prime now.

People always think his prime was vs a non-prime Mosley, a mentally fragile Judah, and a limited, pillow-fisted Malinaggi.

But consider his resume when he was supposedly "shot":

    1. A game, although physically damaged, Margarito.

    2. A past prime but VERY game Mayorga (people underestimate how well trained and hungry Mayorga came into that fight)

    3. An 8-4 loss to Mayweather in a face-saving, competitive, decent losing effort.

    4. A former legit MW champ in Geale

    5. The lineal MW champ Martinez who, although greatly diminished, admitted himself that it was more Cotto's thundering left hook than his rickety knees that was the factor that night.

It is clear that the best part of his resume has come post-Pacquiao and has now reached his mental/physical prime under Roach.
