I just dont understand why people are making it seem like cotto won 6 belts in 6 different weight classes or something, even though he is undefeated(oh well) who has he fought that makes you go oooohhhh aahhhhhh!!! Yea right!!!!!! Floyd is the champ regardless of the nay say!!! He IS one of the best right now and is P4P on top!!!!! Until he gets beat hes the best, i dont care about nothing else(sorry to seem so rude). He has the talent, skill, to be considered one of the best. Cotto is good but cotto needs to be proving himself to floyd not the other way around. If he wants him that badly, then stop being the nice guy and call a press conference or something, via satelite...idk..do something and SAY YOU WANT TO FIGHT FLOYD. Make it official!!!!! Make it public!!!!!!!! Lets make this happen!!! Everyone lets write to whoever is in charge and all sign it and say we want this fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:good

So! He was Floyds best competition at the time! Kinda like if Junior Witter fights Ricky Hatton now! Thats the dude he needs to beat to be in any discussion at light welter

The dude floyd needed to beat to be in any discussion at welter was Judah!

It's NOT a matter anyone needing to prove their worth to the other. It's simply a matter of the reigning p4p best fighter (and welterweight champion) has the opportunity to face a fighter who is a very, very credible opponent in a fight that presents an intruguing clash of styles.

But, I agree with your sentiment. This fight HAS to happen...it's too good of a match-up not to occur.

Classic. I was warned by several senior members at ESB that this would occur. Before Cotto fought Mosley, Mosley was well regarded as a A-, A fighter.. Now after Cotto beat him, he is a sparring partner... Even before Cotto fought Zab, Zab was well regarded, after, he is a nothing...

How funny that the tides change... I mean, Floyd beat a little Hatton who couldn't even handle feather fisted Luis... Now, If I stand by that statement (which I don't cause I am not biased) I would be in the same category as the poster above... :verysad Shame.. :bart

I'd venture to say that Floyd as "in the dicussion" as soon as he fought at 147lbs against Mitchell. Really, he could have fought anyone in the top 10, and established himself as a legitimate threat to the championship. The Judah fight was only intruguing in so far as Zab possessed the speed and southpaw stance to make an interesting fight.

In truth, Floyd beat the fighter that he needed to face at 147lbs when he defeated Baldomir for the championship.

:good ok understood...well then why do we have the people say floyd will not be considered the best if he doesnt fight cotto? I think that is messed up. If floyd hadnt accomplished all of what he has accomplished and got to where he has got then one could say something different. Ya know!

Now now, lets not go to the other side of the coin. I for one never changed my tune and always considered Mosley old, even before he signed to fight Cotto. I made that statement when he called out PBF after the DLH fight. (Basically, if DLH is old, then Mosley is older, though I think Mosley is fresher somewhat....DLH is bigger). And Judah was "coming off a loss" when PBF beat him so it has been dumped on as a win. So I can see PBF fans getting angry when Cotto is given credit for the win since Judah was cominh off of 2 straight losses and a NC when Cotto beat him. The criticism has to work for both....

If PBF fights again at 147, it needs to be Cotto. No one else suffices at this point. Even at 154, he won't find a challenger that will get him this prestige.

Mosley is a sparring partner! kick him in the face and then kick yourself! I didn't give him that title he gave his self that title! Im just calling a spade a spade!

To my disappointment he fought Cotto like a sparring partner too! I was pulling for him I wanted to see him fight Mayweather! I guess thats what happens when you choose to be a sparring partner!
