We knew that. They just keep out the big money/big risk, decent money/huge risk part.
What I want to know is if he vacates on the spot or not

What a bum. That's why cotto will never be known as the best in his generation.

He's not challenging himself like the golden boy. If cotto was like Oscar, he would fight everybody and not just go for chumps like geale and cash grab fights like canelo.

Needless to say, the geale/cotto fight was nothing more than a glorified sparring session lol.

Having a grasp on the current atmosphere if you where in Cotto's shoes who would you fight first. I expect an honest answer from an intelligent individual.

Mind you I too would be greatly disappointed if he never fights GGG.

Last time I checked Cotto is going to take a huge test against Canelo is not like a gimme fight Cotto took a lot of risk in His career and He fought a lot of avoidable fighters in the past.

No sh!t he is. A fight with Canelo currently brings way, waaaay more money than a fight with Golovkin. He'd have to be a fool not to choose Alvarez at this point.

I'm sure there was a collective, "DUH!" when this was read.

The only thing that would spoil a Cotto/Canelo fight coming up next, would be Floyd wanting a rematch with Cotto. That would be an even greater payday and a rematch Cotto has been wanting for quite some time.

Cotto also has a chance of beating Canelo, another reason to choose that fight.

It's a better fight all the way around. Cotto/Canelo is more competitive and due to the built in rivalry between Mexico and PR, more meaningful.

Anyone who claims they wouldn't go for whatever paid the most money is lying or insane. Maybe if he gets past Canelo then he'll take that fight.
