Cotto is that better than Hatton and we saw what happened there, NO ONE expected Pacquiao to KO Hatton that way.

Cotto is no joke but his defense is just wrong for a guy like Pacquiao. Pacquiao will be landing in combinations from start to finish and most of those punches Cotto won't see coming due to Pacquiao's insane speed.

Cotto is no washed up De La Hoya and he ain't a punch drunk sloppy brawler like Hatton. Although Cotto has some defensive flaws, he has a lot of offense and is simply the bigger man. Also, Cotto isn't slow himself and that showed when he was beating Sugar Shane to the punch as well as Clottey in certain instances, something that Clottey's corner even acknowledged by telling Cotto "he is really fast, make sure you keep your hands up".

With that said Cotto TKO in 9.

Cotto's power is overrated. WAY overrated. I don't see it, and I don't hear it. Never heard it or saw it on training videos either.

hmm... another one of these ubiquitous "mark my words" threads. kinda like the ones before pac's fights with dlh and hatton. ppl should've learned by now not to count out pac in any fight especially if the odds are overwhemingly stacked against him. the guy just keeps on surprising us and shaming these TS time and time again.

How do you overrate Cotto's power when his last 3 fights have been guys that have never been down before?

Mosley - only been knocked down once
Margarito - never been knocked down if i'm not mistaken (until Mosley)
Clottey - never been knocked down

Even with that, his KO percentage still is over 70% which is pretty damn good.

I think everyone is overrating Pacquiao's power based on the Hatton punch. Imagine if the same punch that caught Hatton was thrown by Cotto to Pacquiao? You are grossly overestimating Pacquiao based on his last 2 fights...:bart

 

Everybody is talking about who will knockout who but where is it actually written that they are going to face each other? If it happens, it will not be a pretty thing to watch since Pac will move that fast and come blazing against Miguel and believe me, Cotto will have his face in a mess... Professional Boxing is all about hitting fast and reflexes so that you don't get hit, we all should know this since the Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire, but still... Oh, just forget what I said, pointless...

And I've heard the testimony of people who fought him. I don't know, maybe he just can't get any leverage anymore, but honestly, I think him being a HUGE puncher is a myth.
