Broken down, BEATEN and outworked and finally he met his match in an overlooked UNDERATED FIGHTER.

Cotto will never be the same after this. He may make a comeback but the script to beat him was written tonight.
Can anyone other than Margarito do it?
    I doubt it.

Margarito has beaten the man who outpointed Shane Mosely and knocked out Zab Judah,,,,, and I do mean BEAT HIM TO A PULP to the point where his face looked like it had been through a meat grinder.
Took his heart.....stole his will.........and with the odds against him KNOCKED HIM OUT.

I posted a link not long ago......it was the best video leading up to this fight regarding Antonio Margarito.

I can't find it now, but NOW more than ever it means something.

I saw a picture of Cotto's face and expression, while he was on canvas. That picture is more than a thousand words.

we're about to see what Cotto is made of

great fighters can come back from losses, but the way how he just left the ring without an interview...thats a bad sign he prolly bought into his indestructible hype.

This is exactly what I said before the fight. Margarito is gonna beat this guy up and knock him out late.

This is the sort of fight that can have a negative impact on the losing fighter's career. It remains to be seen how Cotto rebounds from this.

    Uhh. the script was written?

Nobody is gonna beat Cotto doing that except Tony Margarito. Nobody. Infact right now I pick Cotto to beat Joshua Clottey. And I'd pick him to beat Cintron. And I'd make him a 50/50 against Williams.

He impressed me that much tonight.

Hopefully Cotto will come back stronger, But I agree with ZAKMAN, this is the sort of fight that can have a bad effect on a fighter psyche/career, time will tell

Williams would destroy him, he's much more accurate with his punches then Margo. Cotto would never attempt to fight him now, so I guess it's not even worth mentioning.

Cotto will be back. I hope there is a rematch, because Cotto could have fought a much, much smarter fight.

You can't say he will or won't at the moment, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully he will come back better then ever. He's only 27 still.

I never said he was a bum, just said that he's an extremely sloppy B level fighter who has a ton of flaws.. which he is. Unfortunately, Cotto didn't take advantage of Margarito's flaws the way he could have tonight and we learned a little bit about Cotto's durability in a very tough fight as well. Also, Margarito was in the best shape I've ever seen him in tonight mentally and physically, a B+ fighter with an unbelievable heart and will to win.

It is a mix of fear and pain, and that facial expression can only be done by a fighter who knows his spirit has been broken.

I have to agree. Win lose or draw he was never going to be the same. ITs too bad. You almost wished he would have been a ***** like Shane and Floyd. Cause now such an amazing talent will never be the same.
