Martinez hit harder than you guys give him credit. I don't think that fight would be wise for Cotto. Kirkland is a beast, even though he is wild, very dangerous fighter because he is crazy. Wrong fight for Cotto. Cintron would be a good match but is will only be shown on HBO Boxing After Dark.

Cotto was the biggest name fighter when I started reading this message board. When he UD Mosley and I thought that could have went either way. Quit against Margo and I thought he lost against Clottey. Dominated Jennings, brutally knocked out by Pac and was ok against Foreman. He will fight anyone that is put in front of him, he has had a tough career. Pac on the other hand, fought catch weight fighters ( drained fighters) until he fought no contest Clottey. His next fight is going to be a big one regardless who it is, I like to see Pac fight someone outside of Arum's stable.

Cotto will clean out the 154 division, mark my words.

He's only 29, and anyone who thinks his career is shot is a ****ing imbecile.

I'm a big Cotto fan (he's all heart and all class), but I'm also a Cotto realist. He doesn't have the height, reach, speed or power to beat the top JMWs. His best chance is to fight Spinks or Angulo for a belt. Or to fight Berto at WW. He loses to Pac, PBF (badly), Paul Williams, Martinez, etc. ,etc.

His career is obviously not over, but he's reached his peak already. And it is not now. It was about 2-3 years ago. And stop calling people imbeciles because it makes you sound like one.
Also, Cotto will not beat any of the top fighters at 154.

I like Cotto also, but I agree I think his better days are behind him and he doesn't get the backing from his promoters to salvage his career. I think Max Kellerman alluded to this but he used a poor choice of words to make such a simple point. I like to see Cotto fight Berto and/or Angulo because these are two fights that will be competitive and that fans would dial in to see.

UD for Cotto, Steward knows the strengths and weakness of Cintron and will exploit it. Cotto stays with Steward game plan he wins. Cintron has improved his boxing enough that he will not get knocked out. He will be a tough fight and if Cotto revert back to his old style, Cintron has a better chance of a upset.

Cintron's a wildcard. I never know what to expect from the guy. I wish the Williams fight had gone the full 12. I mean, who expected Cintron to literally school Angulo? But who expected Martinez to absolutely school Cintron? Kermit's a weird dude, and I'd be curious to see which Cintron shows up against Cotto at 154.

Very true, Cintron has the ability to be an elite fighter than he falls apart. Before the fallen out of the ring incident, Williams was starting to get to Cintron. I would love to see how that fight would have ended. Cintron has power because when he hit Williams, Paul backed up and has never done that, even against Martinez.
