Top Ranks view on champions is they should fight their legendary fights in Vegas. This is where legends fight. But since the nevada state athletic commision will not allow ww to fight with gloves under 10oz. Cotto won't do it! He will not fight with nothing but 8oz gloves. Therefore demands MSG where the 8oz gloves go.
Margarito has said " I don't care what size the gloves are, I just want to fight!"

Margo has the right mentality and confidence, you can tell in his statement.

Here's my question... Has Cotto gotten use to his fighting enviornment ( 8oz gloves, pro Boricua crowd) that is uncomfortable fighting out of it? or he just needs those gloves for Margo?

10oz gloves that = weaksauce. Its the dumbest rule that they could have done and there is no logic to it. They can easily have a meeting and talk about allowing their fight to use 8oz gloves, but there is a big difference between 8oz and 10oz.

I was thinking when he fight Mayweather will he be effected by the size of the gloves in vegas? That will be an excuse when Floyd beats him.

apperantly to Cotto it is. and since he's the more marketable fighter in Top Rank I'm sure he'll have his way. You agree?

It doesn't have to be 10oz gloves in vegas. These rules can easily be over turned. 8oz gloves is fine, 10oz are pillows as far as pro boxing is concerned

Who cares? They can fight with 18 oz gloves and it will still be a good fight.
It would be bull**** if Cotto said no unless they used 8 oz gloves. I love Cotto and i hope he doesnt start using excuses like alot of fighters tend to do.

Cotto has fought in Vegas before, so it shouldnt be an issue. If it becomes an issue then we may have to start pulling Cotto's b*tch card:smoke

Source? According to this article a few months back on ESPN, they both refused to fight in Vegas...

Two ounces, a world of difference

Coach Cotto won't be rolling onto the Las Vegas Strip any time soon.
Every now and then, promoter Bob Arum embarks on a crusade.

His current campaign is an effort to have the Nevada State Athletic Commission rescind its 2006 edict requiring fighters in the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions to wear 10-ounce gloves instead of the traditional eight.

"The intransigence of this commission drives me crazy," Arum says. "They made the change arbitrarily with no serious study and there's no valid reason for it. It runs contrary to what virtually every other commission in the world does. And the problem is, they're Republicans; so like most Republicans, they're stubborn and refuse to admit that they've made a mistake."

"It's horrible," Arum continues. "Nevada is losing fights because guys like Cotto and Antonio Margarito refuse to come here and wear 10-ounce gloves. And I don't blame them. If I was a puncher in the welterweight division, I wouldn't want to wear 10-ounce gloves either."

And what does the commission say in response?

"It's on our agenda for re-evaluation," notes executive director Keith Kizer. "So we'll see what we see."

The last time he fought in Vegas was in 2004. Long before the rule went into effect.

Mayweather fights with them on and Cotto and Margo should not have a problem either though I think the 10oz gloves should not be mandatory. It is what it is as no fighter will really be at an disadvantage.

Calling a world champion a '*****' immediately DISQUALIFIES you.
