claims he'd be down as long as there's business

will be back during Nov-Dec and has 3 fights left

157 is the weight for these much smaller boxers to fight Sergio at. It's respectable being exactly in the middle of the middleweight range, 154-160. Looks like I was right.

It would be a pretty pointless fight in the grand scheme of things. No belt on the line, Martinez has only a few fights left so can't be afford to be wasting them. Cotto would most likely get beaten and so where would that leave him? Hard to see this one happening.

What out there is better besides Canelo Marquez Trout Mayweather Donaire Gamboa Ward and Klitscho?

Martinez is an elite fighter and Cotto fights elite competition.

You'll buy this fight, stop being a ******.

Neither one of those fighters is elite. Cotto would just get his ass beat by a bigger man. It would have little to do with skill. One of them should fight Trout after he fights Canelo.

No chance in hell I would buy that fight. It better on HBO or Showtime

I really like both fighters and I don't want to see Cotto getting removed from his senses in that bout.

Seriously, who wants to see a blown up Cotto get absolutely trashed by Martinez. Cotto is good enough to hang with Martinez.

Cotto would get badly hurt in that fight...Cotto's best path is challenge for the 154 WBO or IBF title, get a good performance and try to get the winner of Trout V Canelo...he was well beaten but not disgraced against Trout but he needs a solid championship win

Taking on Martinez at 157 is nuts, Martinez came in at just over 157 vs Macklin, this is not far off from being an ideal weight for him...it would be a massacre

He lost unanimously twice in a row now. Maybe, just maybe, moving up more weight when he doesn't really suit the weight he's at now, to face a top notch p4p fighter, who's bigger, this time, is a bad idea.

Love Cotto's heart but he should move down to 147 and bang on some of them guys. Put himself in a position for a Mayweather rematch.
