It was never a matter of skill with Cotto, it was a matter of will and dedication.

Canelo is no Floyd. Doesnt have Floyd's defense, or movement. Canelo doesnt have stamina.

Cotto would fire off those bombs to the body and stop Canelo in 6. Canelo has never been in deep with a ATG. And as soon as he did he got shut out.

    Looks like he's back.

Cotto-Canelo is a definite PPV. :bbb

Canelo is NOWHERE near as skilled as Cotto, and with this resurgence I dont think Canelo would stand a chance.

I'd put a check on Cotto against Canelo easy.

After seeing how Canelo looks when he steps up in class, I dont see Cotto having a problem with him.

Cotto did miles better against Floyd than Canelo did :bbb

I'd be shocked if Cotto stopped Canelo, and even more so if it happened prior to the championship rounds.

Canelo doesnt react well to accurate pressure.

I noticed that in round 7 of the Floyd fight. Floyd dropped some counters and some bombs on him like that uppercut and Canelo looked like a deer in headlights.

In response I will merely say that Floyd is Floyd, and Cotto is not.

Wow, what a logic. So I take Canelo because he did better than Cotto when he fought Trout, right?

Canelo is very short tempered for being red headed stepchild from Mexico.

He will open up and get countered by Cotto's devastating left hook.

    Down goes Canelo. It's over!!!!!

Triangle theories don't work in boxing. Canelo beats cottos ass and turns his face to hamburger.

i said how he STEPPED UP IN CLASS.

Meaning being in with an ATG, not a fighter you under prepare for and basically look at as a tuneup.

He looks like he's starting to fill out a little more at 154 also. He's getting older, so maybe hes getting bigger .

Who has Canelo looked good against that wasnt a bum? Be realistic, you're overrating Canelo.

He's fought 2 good fighters, TWO. And he looked less than spectacular against both.

Who has Cotto fought and beat? He beat Judah and faded Mosley (thanks to low blows). Margarito is a bum. Paulie is a decent fighter but not really top level. So your arguments apply to Cotto as well.

Let's just chill out for second and stop letting are emotions take over and bring everything back down to reality. This is a tune up fight and confidence builder for Cotto and this was a chance to see how Cotto look under Roach. He destroyed a guy that is a contender once again a "contender" which probably shouldn't be in the ring with him from the start. Canelo is a whole different ball game since the kid is very skilled, strong, pretty quick (Ask Trout), young, and has a good boxing IQ for someone his age. If you think Cotto is going to walk through this kid then your truly mistaken but I do think Cotto will give Canelo a good fight.

The disrespect! He beat Mosley who was coming off of FIVE wins.

Cotto is a HOF. Canelo is a decent fighter with a Padded record, whose made a career off of fighting smaller opponents, and camping in a weight class far lower than his own. He drains himself to have huge weight advantages.
