if the eye were healthy then yes. to me the fight ended prematurely. cotto did not win it completely in that regard. he was dominating but marg, same as the first fight, was starting to pick up. maybe marg would have fared better too if not for the eye closing up.

That fight ended premature, and if it was in vegas it wouldnt have been stopped. If the doc wanted to stop it because of his eye he would have done it in the 8th. There needs to be a 3rd fight, and this time im not picking a favorite, because tonight it was a crowd premature stoppage. I really would have wanted to see what would have happened in 10-11-12......seriously, wtf was that?! That eye would have been fine for any other boxer. cotto's face was bruised up in 9 rounds. i'm not defending marg. i'm was rooting for cotto actually. however, nothing in that fight clearly and definitively proved to me that margarito had illegal wraps the first time around. consider this, margo hit cotto much less this time around and yet cotto had the more bruised up face (except for the eye of course).

the ref and the doctor stated that Margarito couldn't see out of his eye and they couldn't see in either. That's not a "fine" eye - no boxer should be fighting half blind. And I don't for a second believe you wanted Cotto to win.
No. Margarito is finished. Theres only so mnay beatings a man can take,and hes taken 3 beatings in his last 4 fights. Theres lots of good fights out there for Cotto at 154. Alvarez,Trout,Kirkland,maybe even Martinez.
Completely pointless, Cotto is a far better fighter as he proved last night. Next time would be exactly the same or stopped a bit sooner. The only one who benefits is that slimeball Bob Arum.
