lol your ignorant... cotto is a proven fighter. **** i can make a case floyds fights are more of a joke and never TRUE challenges besides ODH which might have won 1 of the fights .... cottos resume is arguably better than floyds.. considering castillo got stolen, he didnt KO judah, fought a old mosley, hatton was a royal joke, victor ortiz ummmm.... who else gatti ohh ok ...

 

He stopped Bailey who was one of the most feared punchers in the division.

He stopped Corley (bad stoppage to be fair, but he was winning the fight with pressure after recovering.) Good win for his development, as was the N'Dou win.

He gave Malignaggi his first loss at his best weight-class.

He stopped a prime Quintana before 6. That's impressive.

Torres was a hard hitting Champion-level fighter at 140. The proof of his competence is in the pudding of their war.

Judah at 140 was a force to be reckoned with and Cotto actually stopped him in his own weight-class; something Floyd couldn't even do (though he might have been on his way prior to the fiasco, to be fair.) It was evident that this was one of those fights Judah got up for.

Mosley is arguably one of Floyd's best wins and his claim to a high-ranking at welterweight. Cotto beat a much fresher version with skills and a confident approach. That's a very impressive win.

He took on Margarito and put on an impressive display of boxing before the stoppage; questionable, but he took on one of the most avoided men in boxing and though he lost, he showed his skills were something special.

Then, without a functioning corner and neglected fundamentals, he gave Pacquiao his toughest fight since Marquez for the first half.

That's a pretty impressive resume if you ask me. With all the excitement and consistent competition against the best without hesitation he's given and his loyal fanbase, I think he deserves the HOF induction.

Anyhow, once a guy is a name and can make money they don't really challenge themselves. Cotto at least has challenged himself against the best in the division trying to make that name and came up short twice. Unless you dare to be great you usually don't get anywhere. We can at least commend him for daring even if there is a little bit of financial gain on the side.
