Cottoe got punked by Money. LOL. La Diva de Puerto Rico thought he was smooth by ducking Caneloe. Look at him now... got played like a $2 P.R. street hooker. We know he'll duck GGG like he ducked Caneloe. I wouldn't be surprised if he fought Mayorga or Mosly again.
I'm not sure what Cotto is still fighting. He's done plenty in the sport. I don't know, hopefully his finances are in order. He sacrificed a lot for us fans. Really, we should be appreciating guys like him a lot more. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself in that position. It's a big gamble. Obviously, it can pay off pretty big in so far as fame and money, but nobody is indestructible.
U know who else got punked? Khan ROFL Right after May/Pac was announced, he was crying about how it's going to be a boring fight. atsch:rofl:rofl:rofl:happy
:rofl:rofl Good for Floyd he punked my 2 least favorite fighters. I almost want to root for him against Pacquiao for that........ But I won't.
Canelo and Oscar are the ones who got punked. They are the ones who tried the cu de gra on Mayweathers date and got backed off like the glory hounds they are. Cotto knew better and he wasn't about to be a tool for them two fools. He wanted the fight in New York on Puerto Rico day because he is the A side and I agree. Cotto has no fear of Canelo. That's rediculous. He saw those BS fights Canelo was putting on. However I do think that he is a little apprehensive about GGG and I don't blame him for that either.
Canelo is not all that talented and Cotto is pretty washed up so we didn't miss much. Cotto needs to vacate that MW belt he has no intention of honorably defending.
Nah I dont think Canelo got punked, he is going to headline a big event in front of an awful lot of people in Texas. Considering Cotto would have taken the A-side money of the PPV, Canelo probably not making a whole lot less for fighting Kirkland. All fighting Cotto would have brought, was a MW belt - but considering the mandatory that comes with it I can see why he was in no rush. At the end of the day, he is young and will have been out of the ring for longer than he would like. Better for him to just take another fight and beat another known guy than wait of a Cotto fight that may or may not ever happen.
Yeah he did cause although money was a big factor, power was the ultimate goal. Mayweather shut him down and him back off that date. He said he was gonna fight regardless but I see that's not happening. Checkmate! AGAIN.
Khans going to have to find an opponent who was just beat by an opponent who was beat by a champ to try and stay relevant.
Nah. Floyd had to finally fight PAC to keep his date. Win-win all around. Cotto got hosed, because noone he can (and will) fight will draw anywhere near the PPV as Canelo which as the A-side directly impacts his pocketbook. Whereas Canelo just moves on, for just somewhat less money and doesnt have to worry about a GGG mandatory if he wins. Canelo loses nothing, Cotto loses face and a lot of money, Floyd finally fights Manny - which is good for the sport. Pretty much everyone wins... except Cotto.
Cotto is a *****y gangster. He's gotten a piece of just about everybody relevant in the game near his weight class this era: Pac, May, Sergio, Mosley. It wouldn't surprise me if he danced with GGG on his way out, although Canelo was totally acceptable. You know who he might actually have a chance of beating, who he never fought? Marquez. That might actually be a competitive fight at welterweight and Cotto wouldn't have to roid up or lift weights or whatever it is he's doing.
how did Cotto get played by Money when Team Cotto denied twice in January that there were in any negotiations at all with Mayweather?
