I would be VERY suprised if this happens, because i believe Cotto will get through Mayorga, but not as easy as many people think, and i believe Margo will beat him again.

 

At this point he IS a tune-up. Mayorga is beyond shot and has been shot for a while now.

 

Cotto can have a great year in 11 with steward in his corner, he will beat mayorga and at this point I think he can beat margarito as well. After that he will probably have a shown down with either pac or martinez, both would win or chavez jr, because bob loves inhouse.

Cotto vs Mayorga is just as if not more promotable than Cotto vs Margarito. As far as PR is concerned, fighting Mayorga will give Cotto some overlap with Tito's career. So the island would be interested to see how Cotto fares with Mayorga and compare it to Tito.

I think a prime Cotto would school Mayorga. Right now its a toss up. Cotto has lost significant speed, punch resistance, and a bit of confidence.

 

They aren't taking him lightly do you think they are stupid? How is Cotto going to properly prepare to fight Margarito if he keeps fighting weak opposition like Foreman? If anything Cotto looks to be wanting the toughest opposition and that is why he is doing this. He has his eyes set on Mayorga, Margarito, and Martinez. Cotto is a ****ing gladiator.
