Cotto will bring more than just the body attack against Mayweather, his jab and right hand are also very good.

What did Mosley do exactly to take away Cotto's hook to the body? The handful of times Cotto threw it, he landed. Seems to me it was a case of Cotto not wanting to be countered with right hands over the top rather than Mosley doing anything special to negate it. Shane couldn't figure out how to get away from right hands and hooks to the head from both stances, yet he was able to take away the body shots?

 @ Floyd being a better body puncher than Hatton or Cotto.

How the hell did this turn into a Floyd Mayweather Jr thread?

Cotto is a better body puncher than Hatton.

Actually, Mosely did a couple of things to negate that left hook to the body. At times, he kept his right hand low and was able to block the punch, and he was also able to hold effetively when Cotto got to close. I guess you believe it was just a coincidence that Cotto was rarely able to land his money punch.

I'm not even going to get into Cotto, but if you think Hatton is a better body puncher than Mayweather, you might want to reconsider what you believe to be an effective body puncher. Once again, Hatton really only does damage to the body with that left hook, and he winds up to do so. He can land that punch against **** fighters and do alot of damage, but pretty much any competent defensive fighter will be able to avoid, for the most part, that punch.

With Hatton, he doesn't have much of a jab or really any other punch that you have to look out for. So if your looking for that left hook, you should be able to avoid it; as he really doesn't have many other punches that will setup his body attack. With Floyd, you have to be aware of the lead left hook, jab, and straight right. In addition, he can do damage to the body with a jab, left hook, and straight right. Quite simply put, he has such a wide array of effective punches, that it's hard to stop him from landing to the body. He simply has too many ways to setup his body attack.

I body punch does not always have to land to be effective. You mentioned the Shane fight in which Shane took the left hook to the body away but got hit with everything else. Why do you suppose that Shane got hit with everything else? Could it be because he was so concentrated on avoiding that left hook to the body.

BTW what is your obsession with Floyd. The thread has absolutly nothing to do with him. You do know there are other boxers on the planet besides floyd right?

True. To think of the audacity of someone comparing 2 fighters on a boxing board.

Floyd's has a better body attack than Cotto now....??? :huh

I can't knock anyone for thinking this, pbf's body attack is well schooled so I can see fans (more so if your a pbf super fan) thinking he has a better body attack.

Lets just ask around the boxing world and give each pro a question "Hey who would you let take a couple free shots to your ribs Cotto or Floyd" then we can make a fair assumption. :yep

PBF and Cotto are both well schooled body punchers Cotto just puts much more twist and legs you can't even compare the legs as Cotto's foundation is much thicker than PBF's.
