I was saying Trout was before Floyd for Alvarez, it looked like you said Alvarez bounced back vs Trout and Lara maybe I misread

i usually do not put much stock into who is training a fighter....however i think Pedro Diaz has been awful to cotto's career. His training for Trout and Mayweather was awful. Diaz is an amateur trainer who trains amateur fighters.

Cotto was out of condition, overly cautious, and was trained to abandon the body and score points only via headshots while really slowing down his work rate.

I think Roach, Marvin Somodio, and gabe mcmillian have done wonders for Cotto. I really dont hold the pedro diaz losses against him at all.

No boxer who has won championships at 140, 147, 154 and 160 is a mirage. If it's an easy thing to do, then it would have happened more often.

Most when Cotto fought Martinez said that a 60% Martinez would whoop Cotto. Cotto took it to him hard in the 1st round, and he never recovered. Period.

They did 3 MRI's the week of the fight I believe on the knees and no damage revealed either.....

So I do not think it's a mirage....

who they fought and when - that's how you evaluate a boxer's career
people need to get over the belts, since the federations are the core of all problems in the sport, and they rely on fans giving them some legitimacy so that they can continue to pull the strings
    cotto beat Martinez, fair enough.
but like the poster above you who claimed cotto was the "undisputed MW champ of the world", it's ridiculous to give him that mantle when his first reaction to winning was to make damn sure he didn't fight golovkin - he wanted the 'meaning' behind winning the belt, without actually having to take the consequences of it.
look at cotto's career, now look at Oscar de la hoya's, and you'll see two careers that had ATG resumes with very little payback

Cotto was on absolute top form against Sergio and Margarito II.

    No mirage whatsoever.

its not "hate" if people justify their comments
if you don't know how to counter that because you like cotto, then just say so ;)

Exactly. Sergio was obviously a few years past his very best, but he was not as shot as the haters make out. Cotto won cause he was able to hurt MartinezÂ… It's not as if Martinez just collapsed.

Martinez was also able to fight over six 3 minute rounds after those knockdowns and his knee was fine. He also walked out of the ring, not in a stretcher....

Consider this.... late September, an announcement was coming from Sergio after visiting the leg doctor... where is the announcement? Non existent, why because his knee is fine. Was he PAST his prime... sure but so was Cotto.
