The evidence is in. First full-fledged, hard-hitting welterweight Cotto faces, he's knocked out. Those of us who followed his career, and watched his problems with punch resistance closely, knew this day was coming. The first sign was when the under-sized and not particularly hard-hitting Demarcus Corley nearly had him out of their, in a fight where he was outweighed by 17 pounds. Then, the mediocre Ricardo Torres, with his built up record against nobodies, puts Cotto on the canvas and nearly has him out.

Yet, when those of us who noticed this pointed out before the Margarito fight that Cotto's chin was shaky, we were attacked. Worse yet, when Cotto's chin was SHOWN to be shaky by Margarito, the same crowd still continued to deny the obvious.

When will boxing fans wake up??? This guy's whiskers are SUSPECT with a capital "S."

    again...chin, chin, chin.

just shut the **** up already. nobody gives a **** about your rants.

yeah, cotto doesn't have an iron chin, it's good, not glass, people know that...let it be.

your comments on your other chin thread and the way you call fighters jokes and frauds proves you've never boxed before. otherwise you'd know more about what goes on inside the ring and have a little more respect for the guys that provide entertainment while you sit on your old ass and watch.

I don't think getting stopped on accumulation means his chin is bad. He took Margo's best shots and didn't even get knocked down really, he took a knee twice. If he had no chin he wouldn't have made it that far. He doesn't have Margo's chin, but I'd say it's underrated

Yeah that's true, I thought the blood was paint and the broken nose and busted lip must have been from him and his uncle having a fight in between rounds.

    What does that mean? Nothing.

Cotto didn't take Margarito's best shots. Margarito never landed his best shots. Cotto prevented that from happening with his movement and defense. I want you, Miles5149, to point out for me ONE fully extended punch that Margarito connected with cleanly, right on the button. Just ONE. Cotto was blocking and smothering virtually everything Margarito threw out him. Margarito wasn't getting extension even when he did land, and extension is the source of Margarito's power.

There's a few there and a few in another thread I couldn't find. Throw in some uppercuts and I think he landed one. I think so

Here's the problem - look at the position of Margarito's body when he's landing those right hands. His rear foot is forward and he's jabbing with his power hand, his right hand. In the other images Margarito is far too close to generate power. Margarito has to have extension. It's also highly doubtful that Margarito landed on the button very much at all with any real power behind it. One thing is for certain, when Margarito did make contact he was hurting Cotto, as soon as he did so - and again, this isn't even Margarito's heavy artillery we're talking about.

BTW, if you find any video let me know. I'll do the same.
