OK read this SLOWLY and try to understand. First, I wasn't talking to you Dumbhead. I was answering someone who say DelaHoya was never a 130lbs. Second, DelaHoya came to 13 fights under 135lbs. He even showed up once at 128 3/4lbs.

I think I like Floyd the person and know I like Floyd the fighter, but it's his persona that sometimes is harmful to the sport.

    Bigtime, here's the problem:

Whereas Pacquiao fans weren't all excited about the MAB rematch, and Calzaghe fans weren't at all happy about Manfredo, certain Mayweather fans seem to rejoice at his lack of competition.

It's less about the fighter proving his greatness in the ring, and more about the fighter proving his greatness at manipulating the system. For some fans, the Mayweather adoration is based on Floyd's defiance and penchant for waving money in the face of society, rather than his ability to prove domination over other elite opponents.

In other words, you're more caught up in Floyd the countercultural icon than Floyd the ATG fighter.

And to we true boxing fans, that's annoying and an impediment to the health of the sport.

Watch out, KG's starting the old Zakman style capitalisation for emphasis on Bigtime, indicative of irritation with the subject.

Actually, I'm very calm right now. Just got myself a new bowling ball and won myself $500 in a tournament today!!

I only capatilized because I truly think the boy wouldn't understand that the two things connect and contradict.

Lets clear something up right quick...Cotto is NOT going to fight Cintron. He will only fight the winner if the winner is Margo. Cintron should he win will fight Clottey next. Cotto vs Margo is the fight that Arum wants. Im not really sure why. It was said that Cotto would fight the winner of Williams vs Margo, which was never the case.

Now with that out of the way on to the subject...Alot of guys just really want to see Floyd lose...Its those same guys that was saying that Gatti would beat Floyd, saying that Baldo would beat Floyd, and were saying that Oscar would jab and left hook his way to a knockout win over Floyd. They also were saying that Margo was the guy that would beat floyd and Floyd was ducking him, then it was Hatton and now its Cotto. dont get me wrong Cotto is an excellant fighter, and Floyd should fight him, problem is it would stop there. After Floyd beats Cotto it would just be on to the next guy. Cotto like Hatton, Oscar, Baldo, and Gatti would then become not the fighter that they were building him up as...He would have been tooo green for Floyd, tooo weight drained...Floyd would have had the refs help to win, or the fight should have happened at 154 cuz everyone knows that Cotto was haivng trouble making 147. I think I covered all the excuses that we would hear.

I want to see the fight and I would challenge you to find one time when I said Mayweather would lose ANY of those fights.

Hell, I argued with Amsterdam that the first Hatton fight WAS meaningful to Mayweather's legacy and was a step in the right direction. As I recall, we were talking about Mayweather vs Pacquiao in the P4P rankings and their upcoming fights and recent resumes. So I fall under none of these categories. I doubt Brooklyn does either....and honestly, I don't think Amsterdam, C Money (who hates Mayweather for the most part) said he would lose any of those fights. Orishaman is the only poster who fits the description you said.

I hope Mayweather retires unbeaten. I just hope he does it by beating the best out there. The I can said that I saw one of the best there ever was fight (just like I said about Jones Jr).

I disagree with some of the stuff you said. First Pacnatic were fired up about his fight with MAB the second time, and they to this day claim it as a GREAT win.

I disagree with your claim that floyd lacks a high level of comp...On this very website 52% polled said that Oscar would win, 45% said that Hatton would win. Meaning Floyd was fighting guys that people thought were his equal. He won both fights easy at which point all the excuses started and they became WEAK comp. Which is the very same thing that will happen with Cotto.

I said Mayweather would dominate and KO Hatton and that it was a meaningless fight. I said Mayweather would win every round against Baldomir and possibly stop him.

The Gatti fight I didn't even give a second thought, who would have?

I also picked Mayweather over DLH by something around 8-4.

I pick Cotto late TKO Mayweather as it stands now.

    Exactly....

I guess I don't get the context of his post. Unless I am misreading it, who is he talking about? The context gives the impression he is targeting the people who are upset in this thread that Mayweather isn't fighting Cotto. If so, I fall into that category as do many others who don't fit his description. Why the hell would I want to see Mayweather lose? I just want the guy to prove he is as good as I think he is and he thinks he is.
