That is a fight that would have been amazing to see. But I think Cotto wouldnt let him get inside and try to rough him up. I see Cotto winning that via ko but damn that would have been great to see.

Whatever happened to that guy? I still say and will say forever more,

Cotto could have been much, much, more. Trainer problems and some slips

in dedication and that cheating piece of Shiit Margarito, fighting in the

wrong weight class....I still stay Cotto beats Bradley and the rest at 147 its

where he should be. Not getting KTFO at 160/159 by Sergio. We shall see.

 

Unfortunately the cheating sissy Margarito made it easy to detract from Cotto's career, so we will never really know if Pac would've fought Cotto at all without a catchweight, and what effect that did or did not have and what having his original trainer Evangelista would've added. Cotto's career was highly derailed and the only thing certain is that there was a negative impact on Cotto's career, leading to uncertainty, no matter how much his hater nation try to convince it would've ended up the same.

Manny just beat the hell out of him. Tony , despite having only one good eye, was poised to repeat the beatdown in Cotto II but the crooked Doc stopped the fight. Not to save Margarito's eye but to save a wilting Cotto from quitting AGAIN.
This is why I feel Sergio Martinez will not have a level playing field against Cotto in NYC He may as well be fighting him in San Juan. Sergio has to knock Cotto out or stop him he sure cannot trust the judges or the ring doc atsch

 

The only sissy in the fight , if there was one, was Cotto. He backed into the corner took a knee & QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only a crooked NY doc saved Cotto from quitting AGAIN!!! in the rematch.

Cotto before the car accident with a working right hand and not having to make 145lbs is a different story. Cotto said recently that he felt it in the fight... that little 1-2 lb difference has an impact once you are in the ring. Especially against a guy like Manny who is fast and relentless.
