I think this is a very naive I don't believe every fighter has to or is willing to die. Some fighters have no doubt been willing to die in the ring for our entertainment but they don't get thanked for it any more!

There will still be punks in front of a PC screen or otherwise who are willing to be disrespectful to them, so what is it all for? Just so they can hear us say wow such and such is a warrior? Smh!

Cotto is a father you think his children would be proud of him if he died in the ring? I don't think so, he wants to win intelligently and go home to spend his money on his family nothing wrong with that!

No good being a dead millionaire, let the man use his brain in the ring. Fighters like Margo have to lay it all on the line because he wasn't smart enough to learn how to use a defense. So someone who has to take 3 to give one has to have more heart than most because he doesnt have the brain to know to defend shots other than with his chin and thats what you want to applaud?

Yeah Cotto seems fine now but what about Margarito? the major comment people make about him (besides from mentioning he's a disgraceful cheat) is how his eye always look kind of off, maybe cotto blinds him in that eye then 20 years from now when Margarito has lost all his money he can sit back and still have the memory of knowing how proud he made some fat ***git on the internet.

Cotto is making a distinction on his priorities.
There are people at my job where it's their life they virtually live there and to me it's just my job and I still make as much bank if not more than most of them.

Margaret is trying to be noble and talk with honor that he will leave his life in the ring.

There's fighting hard and fighting with heart to try and win, and then there's stupidly getting battered like Margo against Pac or Briggs against Vitali when there's virtually no chance in winning. A fighter having that mindset is fine, but if he does he needs a corner to protect himself from himself, otherwise he's going to get unnecessarily hurt.

 

Why does Cotto get a pass and Ortiz gets crucified?

 

Considering the fights that Cotto has been in, and the damage he took from both Margarito & Pacquiao, it is pretty crazy to accuse the guy of lacking heart regardless of what he said in the face-off.

 

Cotto's heart got tested and passed with flying colours in the Torres fight. He's taken some savage beatings since then but it's not like he's some chicken**** who's gonna lie down the minute the going gets tough.
