Cottos last 5 wins before fighting FLoyd

    Everyone agrees that this was floyds best win and it catapulted him to the consensus number 1 P4P fighter.

    Afterall he beat the Number 1 light Middle in the world.

    So what did Cotto have to do to become number one light middle in the world.

    Lets look at his last 5 fights before floyd:

    Clottey - Most people agree he lost this fight, and most people agree tat clottey is garbage and got cherry picked by Mnny

    Manny - Got destroyed in a one sided fight

    Foreman - Beat Uri Foreman after he sprained his leg.

    Mayorga (not Ranked) - Beat a completely shor Mayorga not without some rocky moments in the fight.

    Margarito (Not Ranked) - Beat a Margarito - who wass cherry picked by manny, was completely shot, got destroyed by many, so god knows what state he was in for cotto fight.


    After all this Cotto is the number 1 fighter at light middle. The Rating system is Bul****.

    Cotto was beating Foreman before Foreman sprained his leg. Give Foreman 5 legs and Cotto was still gonna kick his ass. :nut

    Foreman a B win
    Clottey B level win
    Margarito was a C- win
    Mayorga C- win
    Manny A level fight that he lost but the catchweight drained him so it's an A+ for him since he gave up his body for money.

    Around a B-, C+ level.

    Cotto was well matched and protected his entire career. He's a Top Rank creation with a large national following.

    I love Cotto, but his #1 position at 154 was based moreso on his work at 147 and his reputation. Sad thing is, both he and Canelo have yet to face a top JRMW to get their top rankings at 154.

    Has Margarito been ranked since Mosley KOd him?

    Many think Clotty won but it seems more have Cotto winning than vice versa. Many claiming Clottey gave up the last 2 rounds.

    Me too. I know who i'd favour if either of them had to fight Lara or Martinez.

    splitting feathers - You could score it either way. There was only one fighter that looked like he didn't want to be there from 6 rounds on and that was Cotto.


    Margarito lost his rankings when he got Banned. Not because of the defeat.

    Clottey only wins against cotto when the hardcore pac fans try prop up pac's win against clottey as if he was some unbeatable beast.

    In the same breath they would say Cotto beat Clottey with one eye as a sign as to how tough a challenge cotto was when pac fought him at a catchweight.

    Cotto weighed in at 146 most of the time at Welter, he only had to lose a pound more than normal.

    Turbo and the others know that. They also know Cotto said he was fine at 145. They say Cotto was drained to discredit the win. Pretty much a bunch of whiny ****ers who just hate Pac.
