Cotto looked just as he did when he fought Pac at 145, as he did anyone else at 146 or 147 (less the success due to Pac's punches of course). He didn't fight like a drained fighter at all. Do you know how guys looked once drained? Sluggish, like their punching in water. And their output drops dramatically because they have no energy. NONE of that is apparent w/ Cotto from the Pac fight. This line that Cotto was drained really just makes you look stupid Turbo. Look, we get it, you hate Pac and look to discredit his win because of what...his fans? And since you're such a critical thinker *sarcasm* has it occured to you Cotto looked good at 154 based on WHO HE'S FOUGHT? Until he fought Floyd, he had NOT faced one major threat there. Not once top 5 JrMW yet. He moved up to 154 because he was beaten to a pulp by 2 guys at 147 and had a title shot vs. Foreman waiting 7 pounds up. It was a very smart move to move up to 154. Hell, Cotto even looks small compared to other JrMWs. But no....none of this cannot be true right? It's just better to repeat the same this the dumbest floyd fanboys here post ad nauseum....
Margarito, was not about rankings, it was about revenge. Marg still had the great chin and looked in decent condition, but the Pacquiao fight ended his career. Cotto targeted the eye and the fight was stopped. Mayorga, a natural light middle, shop worn, big hitter but very easy to hit. Decent win but not great. Foreman, never a world beater, a paper champ, but was Cotto first move up to light-middle and for a title no less, coming of a devastating lost. Clottey, Close fight, Clottey had it in the bag but took his foot of the gas in the last couple of rounds and gave the fight away. In reality Cotto did not prove he was the best light-middle in the world but who did?
Two things you got it wrong. Most people does not agree that it was Floyd's best win. 2. Cotto was doing good against Pac until he gassed out.
I don't think cotto push Floyd back to num1 while many never dropped Floyd from 1 to begin with. Pac inherited the position due to Floyd's retirement. The p4p rating is all opinion based and it was just an overwhelming people who still believes Floyd is num1.
LOL:rofl Have you seen the fight. First round close, but Pac takes it Second round Pacquiao take a bit more control, looking like it could be a good tear up though. Third round, Pacquiao win 10-8 the hand speed advantage is clear and put Cotto down. Forth round Pacquiao toys with Cotto giving Cotto chances, sits on the ropes invites Cotto on. Then fights of the ropes, and when Cotto tries to retaliate, Pacquiao clocks him with the left and he has felt the Power After that Cotto is in survival mode and Pacquiao beats him up and chases him round the ring. Miguel does not gas out.
I don't expect a ******* to acknowledge what success cotto had on pac that night. And if you follow cotto career he always had a conditioning problem. He fades after 8 rounds. I have only seen two times where he kept his conditioning up for 12 rounds and thats with Marg II and Floyd.
Maybe you should watch the fight. Cotto gassed out. What a joke. Maybe Khan gassed out against Garcia:rofl
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Clottey - I wouldn't say "most" thought Clottey won. I thought he gave the fight away in the championship rounds (a common issue with him). But say what you will, Clottey was a very avoided and tough fighter and Cotto fought him. Pacquiao - not only did Cotto take the fight that Mayweather shamelessly ducked for years, he took it at a catchweight. He lost. So what? He fought the best. Foreman - quality win against a bigger man; gave cotto a title in a 3rd division. Mayorga - stay busy fight, nothing more. Margarito - revenge/justice fight; this HAD TO HAPPEN before Cotto retired. All in all, a solid resume. Not great, but not bad either. If anyone had earned a "soft touch" or two, it was Cotto. For years this guy took on all comers. ****, you could argue that his quality of opposition at 147 is better than Floyd's. this
