I always felt cotto was the much dangerous fighter in the welterweight division. fighting cotto toe to toe is total suicide, if thats ur game plan u myt aswell send him the title belts via post the day before.

however margo is fearless and can take a pretty hard hit himself. and so the way i see it is if margo fights him toe to toe a lot of blood will be lost by both guys, and COTTO WIN 9th ROUND KO. (BODY PUNCH)

 

Nah although I love to see Cotto in action going toe to toe... theres nothing like the tijuana tornado. Even if Cotto starts throwing bombs I dont think he can stand with Margo for that long. Im pretty sure Cotto is going to have to use plenty of ring smarts and avoid his own destruction.

 

Cotto is a more compact fighter and it's hard to get an open shot to the body...but Margo tend to throw wide punches, a leaving his body open. Margo will land some body shots but Cotto will make him pay.

 

Does anyone know what the betting odds are for these guys? i think this would be interesting.

 

I'm counting on Cotto's body shots to hurt Margo aswell and I'm certainly gonna put a bit on a Cotto TKO win.

If Cotto goes underneath justlikethat, he's gonna pay heavily upstairs and downstairs... The whole thing about this talk about Cotto's skills and Margo's workrate is deceiving in itself - if Cotto beats Margo systematically to the punch, he wins no matter how ( even if Margo holds on everytime)... It remains to be seen if Tony is not gonna fire back and connect on Miguel. Yeah, a left uppercut like against Golden Johnson or a left hook to da liver like against Cintron or even a big right hand like the one that opened a gash on William's eye and drove him back from round six on. Margo has the chin, the punch and the conditioning to give Cotto a nightmare in there - forget about Cotto's technique.

 

i'm picking cotto KO. i can see cotto using his superior boxing skills to pace himself for a long fight. clottey sticking and moving had margarito like a deer in the headlights, i see cotto doing some of that as well. he wont wade in like most of yout think. cotto will trade with margo to his advantage, and he'll be boxing in spots to suit his pace. margarito will be taking a lot of punishment over the fight and will be worked over hard for the stoppage at rds. 8-12.

 

You can't forget about Cotto's techniqe.

The Speed, the timing and the compact punches that he sits down on all spell Painful Counter punches for margarito.

 

How is this a pick em fight. Margarito is **** compared to Cotto and has 4 losses against average fighters, 1 good fighter.
