He will probably be looked at as a Vargas.

He wouldn't make the top 50 at WW. But he will be remembered as a good fighter who took on quality fighters and was involved in some nice action fights. Not a bad legacy to leave.

Your a ****ing hater  your statement that he doesnt get in to the top 100 is almost as ridiculous as the earlier claim that he is top 3 all time.

He has my respect and would be remember in my book how a true fighter should be. Never made any excuses even in his only two loses were his opponents have raise questions at this point. He fought almost all of them, just a few left, but then again you can't fight them all. Arum did a great job in the beginning, but I feel Arum saw the bigger picture and put Cotto through some fights that could have happen little by little, but they were rush. He was a valiant and brave fighter, who actually care about the fans. During his time fighting he's def. in my top 10 esp. at 147.

I don't think Cotto has much of a legacy. In my opinion, legacies are for the elite. Cotto is a decent fighter, but he was no better than that. His best wins are a gift decision over Clottey and a disputable win over a past prime Mosley. Cotto is more hype than greatness.

i think you need a more in depth look at the history of boxing before saying this type of thing.....cotto is a very good fighter and this isnt an attack at him in any way. but there are much better welterweights than him in the long history of boxing.

This was a response to Cotto not even being close top 100 welterweight. I could probably see a reason of him not being consider top 50. I honestly couldn't name 50 welterweights out of my head instantly, without looking for sources or anything like that. But since you have a great depth in boxing probably more than others and me:D, could you please be the first to write down your top 50 welterweight list and educate us a little more. I bet your list would bring a ton of arguments. Im ready for your list, hope you don't keep us waiting:good
