No, were you backstage at that particular fight on the night in question? These are the reports directly from the media who were ringside and those who had backstage access. I could care less if Cotto went back there and played checkers.
I dont doubt the crying part. Cotto is an emotional guy although it isnt shown on tv. But to say that he left early to avoid interviews and such because he was a sore loser is prepostorous. He left to get medical attention. Per the spanish stations that covered the fight.
pavlik loss cotto looks to gain experience from his loss pavlik just looked like he was in another world
Maybe they were lying to cover for Cotto. It would be messed up if they reported that he stormed out of there crying.
Really? I've never seen him storm out of the ring in any of his wins. I've also seen him show a lot of emotion in his wins.
Cotto's. Pavlik lost to an ATG 2 weight divisions above himself. Plus I think he was more embarassed than anything else.
Yeah but he was 3-1 favorite, and was convinced that he would either decisively beat and/or stop Hopkins. He then went out and was completely dominated for 12 rounds. He didn't land a single meaningful punch the whole fight. Cotto at least won some rounds and got in some good licks. Then again, Pavlik can always take shelter at 160. Cotto has no choice but to stay at 147. I guess time will tell who got it worse. However, many Hopkins victims have a tendency to not be the same after getting executed by Nard.
Many had Cotto winning before the 11th round that resulted in the stoppage. Pavlik lost every round and never had one moment or even one punch that he could hang his hat on.
Cotto cut out of there because he was feeling emotional most likely. There was absolutely no overwhelming need for him to rush out of the ring. He elected to do so. He wasn't at all a sore loser - who said that? The medical story may or may have not been a cover. It's all speculation. I'll just use common sense, feel free to believe what you'd like.
most fighters cry in their losses esp. when its their first... from champs to contenders it hits them hard... all the training and getting defeated after is not an easy thing for any fighter, esp. in front of millions of fans and most importantly family... is nothing being ashame of... crying is part of all sports from defeats to even victories... just thought i share that...
Cotto's. I see Pavlik losing to a much older man, but by a "living legend" and highly regarded ring technician. I think by him getting utterly dominated that way makes people look at him like he was exposed. Some might not even respect as much or at all after that loss. Whereas Cotto and the vast majority of all people assumed he was the far more superior boxer and was fighting a lesser opponent and was expected to win. The guy just gave up. The kind of emotional and mental loss he suffered can do more damage to his motivation in his career. But that is just my point of view.
