Cotto's MW titles should not be counted.

Cotto is the lineal champ, but the real champion is Golovkin. Cotto knows that, Canelo knows that, and everybody else knows that.

    Sergio was the lineal champion.

80% of us all picked Sergio to beat Cotto.

Cotto won the lineal championship from Sergio.

Sometimes things happen that we don't like. Ignoring them is not an accurate portrayal of reality.

This would be like re-writing history completely...

Sugar Ray Robinson was never the WW champion. After all, he never fought Burley. We all know Burley was the real champ.

Jack Dempsey was never the HW champion. After all, he never fought Wills. We all know Wills was the real champ.

So you're saying that 155,156,157,158, and 159 are not middle wights. Only 160. Is that right?

Tell you what Ahole, you can either have an adult conversation or GTFO. If your last resort is to insult others, you are clearly an ignorant and uneducated fool. I don't know you and you don't know me, refrain form keyboard warrior insults. It is as simple as this and make no mistake because I will tell you in the nicest way possible, face to face I would simply make it possible for you to try and digest some of your own teeth. To answer your ignorant reply I say this, Unless you are the four major sanctioning bodies, then you get no say in what constitutes a middleweight, and right now, according to those four sanctioning bodies anything between 155 and 160 is middleweight. By the way, if you're interested, you can pm me and I will gladly give you a choice of where you would like to meet so you can find out what your teeth will look like coming out of your ass.

Actually if we want to get technical I believe if one conducts a weighted average of Geale's weigh ins over the course of his career it comes out to a couple ounces below Cotto's enforced contractual obligation for Geale. Intresting stuff.

My apologies, please go on perpetuating the cotto hate :good

... and if you count his fights at high school, then his average weight would allow him to fight Rigo.
