Spinks had no buisiness being in there with Mike Tyson too, but he was the lineal champ at the time, while Tyson was the undisputed champion. It happened and ended like it should.

This has to happen too. Golovkin deserves the lineal championship.

I get what your saying. But like I said I don't get why people are so hung up on belts. I don't think there is a boxing fan out there who doubts GGG is the best in the middle weight division. If cotton had a chance I would say yeah let's see the fight. But it just doesn't interest me watching GGG beat up a much smaller man. All I want is good competitive evenly matched fights. And cotto Bradley is definitely that. Is it ridiculous being for middle weight title? YES. But at the end of the day who cares as long as competitive match ups are being made. We don't get enough of them. Eg. Garcia v salka. Joke of a fight.

I don't think anyone doubts it, but there are people who can keep claiming they doubt it and also the historical significance of it all.

Just look at the Wlad situation for instance. Nobody that seriously follows boxing didn't have him as the #1 HW out there early 2008 when he had beaten Ibri and his brother had been retired for more as 3 years by then.
But he didn't become lineal (and the real champ) until beating Chag mid 2009 or according to some even as late as the Pov fight late 2013!!!
So in their eyes he's just recently crowned as The Champ and is dangeling all the way down on the historical champions lists because of that.
The worst of the bunch (I saw one post even today) don't even see him as the real champ because he doesn't hold the paper WBC belt also.

Of course this is only due to them hating his guts, but I can see this happen all over again with Golovkin as Cotto ducks him.
His records (if he breaks them) would be called void because he never was the 'real' champion at the time the records were broken and he only fought bums (that everyone else ran for the hills would be forgotten)

At a reasonable weight I like this fight, but I can't see Cotto going below 154 and Bradley going above 147 and being effective.

I think there are better fights out there for Bradley- ones that won't give him brain damage. Cotto needs to fight GGG. If belts don't matter then give them to people that fight 4 times a year. That's why I love GGG, he's a fans' fighter. And I hope he does a lot of housecleaning this year in that division.

This should be embarrassing for Cotto :-(

Cotto vs Bradley at 154 is a big fight, and a good fight, without having to disgrace the middleweight division.
