Lets take a look at Miguel Cotto's Resume from 140.
At 140 lbs he fought some decent fighters. in Pinto, Maussa(undefeated), Torres, Corely, Ndou, Bailey, Malinaggi,Branco, Abdullaev(Fromer Gold Medalist). NOw that's a pretty good list of Fighter at that time . But the fighters who troubled him the most were Corely and Torres . Malinaggi gave a good account for himself. TR has some of the best match makers. During this time up until 2005 he was Kept away from Tyszu, Hatton, Mayweather, Gatti, Mitchell, Witter. Now im sure Cotto would of fought all these fighters if TR would of let him but the match makers know theses fights were all possible losses if not for-sure losses(Tyszu & Mayweather) for they're rising star.

Now lets take a look at 147. his first fight he Smashed through a legit 147lber in Quintana .beat a solid fighter in urkal then has a rough fight with Zab Judah. next up he has a close fight with Mosely and Then demolishes journeyman /Contender star Gomez. catches a beat down from plaster man. comes back gets a gimme with Jennings and has a close fight with clottey. Pac Man Lights him up and he's done @ 147. fighters he was kept away from or did not fight Mayweather, Paul Williams and Cintron.

so Has a solid Resume at 147 but caught 2 losses in fighting a cheater(margo) and a Dynamo in PACMAN.

NOW at 154 is where it starts to get REAL . He fights the Weakest champ in the Division in Foreman. Goes a full 12 with a faded and shell of Mayorga. Beats a Margo who's been utterly destroyed by Mosely and Pac. Fight a Special Fighter in Mayweather at 154 and loses. Then fights a Big Natural 154lb Southpaw in Trout and gets Beat. Comes back and smashes a C level Rodriguez .
Fighters at 154lbs missed so far Williams(At the Time), Angulo, Lara, Kirkland, Canelo, K9, and Molina.

now based on this Does anyone other then Island Pride Favour Cotto over Martinez LEts Be serious here TR is Looking to Cash him out ???

I say Island Cause Puerto Rico is not a Nation it's a common wealth/ Territory of the US:deal

I go against popular opinion and pick Cotto to win. Martinez is well past prime, now is the time to take his scalp.

A shot to **** Martinez has a chance

    A prime Martinez was insane

Paul Williams had an iron chin, cotto does not

One thing cotto shares with Paul is no head movement and taking big shots

Even a shot Martinez can ko cotto

On the flip side, shot Martinez has very little in the tank so if it goes long I can see cotto just win on stamina alone

Cotto is being over rated and Martinez is being under rated because of how he looked against Murray. I thought Sergio won it basically with ring generalship and not much else. I had him eek by 114-113. Murray is a tough out and fought a style that is hard to look good against.

IMO, Cotto will look good for a few rounds before getting beaten badly. Other than the money, it's kind of a dumb fight.

    :-( This was unnecessary.

And why do you think Gatti would have beat Cotto?

This. Everyone thinks that the Sergio that fought Pavlik is going to show up. That Sergio is long gone. Sergio's decline hasn't been noticed because he's been fighting the likes of Macklin, Barker and Chavez. The Murray fight showed where Sergio is now. Cotto is a better fighter than all those guys, and on fight night he and Sergio will be about the same weight.

That said, Cotto will probably have to have the fight of his career to beat Sergio, but at this point that is still possible for him.

Cotto appears to be counting on Martinez to be shot from injuries, ring rust, etc., but even a Martinez who is injured with ring rust will knock Cotto out. The reason Cotto is fighting Martinez is because of the injuries he has had. However, this might backfire, and I expect it to..........

I always thought Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez were terrible match ups for Cotto

I know Martinez's last 13 rounds have been rough but Cotto looked past it vs Trout and reborn vs a guy he is supposed to do that to

    Martinez wins this

Cotto is well past it, too, and Martinez is still way better than Cotto. Those who pick Cotto also forget the fact that Cotto is moving up in weight, which will make him a little slower.

    Sergio's latest interview:

    "I haven't gone for a run in a year."

"The pain in my left knee is still present, and comes from just walking around."

I think cotto has a decent chance here. needs to apply pressure and worth the body. he does that I think he can win It. I think with roach in his corner this will be more competitive than people think.

There is no way Martinez's knee is shot. He is too smart to actually admit it.

Regardless of his knee...Martinez is still in trouble. If he is using Cotto's snub as a motivation. Which his trainer said he is and that will put him in the best shape ever!

Then he is in trouble already.....for one, Cotto doesn't even recall the incident that has Martinez's panties in a bunch.

What a Pussie Martinez is.....overly sensitive and Gayish !!!

Hope Martinez gets starched on June 7th !!!!

Martinez is a powerful counter puncher he could be bluffing about his knee in the hope that Cotto comes charging in straight to a left counter
