Yuri foreman - injured B level fighter Ricardo Mayorga - no comment Margarito - Eye was badly damaged from the pac fight, cotto targeted it all night. Did not try to actually hurt marg. Fight was stopped by doctor and marg wanted to continue Mayweather - respectable loss Austin trout - Loss, won 2 rounds max. Embarrassing D rod - ESPN level fighter, was brought in to lose in front of 1000's of PR's in Orlando florida. The entire card was stacked in favor of puerto ricans. Sergio martinez - crippled
before that he had pillow fisted paulie, never reached his full potential judah, and 38 yr old moseley.
 Not to mention unbeaten Pinto, unbeaten Torres, unbeaten Quintana, unbeaten Maussa...all knocked out!! His entire run at light welter pretty much as soon as he stepped up to full-length 10-rounders, from mid-2002 until mid-2006, was jam-packed with quality, over which time went 18-0 (15) with all but a couple of those opponents being current or former world titlists or multiple-time challengers. Names like Corley, Abdullaev, Bailey, N'Dou, Branco, even Juuko and Brown - these carried weight as of when he beat them. (some less than in previous years, nonetheless all still creditable scalps as of then) He was already flirting with the Hall of Fame on strength of resume before he ever debuted at welterweight.
nothing, i had a strong feeling that martinez was washed up and knew his knees were shot. if anything i would have put money on cotto.
trashing his resume is hilarious, especially since the TS missed out nearly his whole LWW run and based Cotto's resume only post-Pac, where Cotto actually was competetive early on before getting beat down
Everything from welterweight up for Cotto (as for guys like Mayweather, Pacquiao, De La Hoya, and Mosley - all of whom cemented their legacies at lower weights no matter what their haters may claim) is just gravy, just icing on the cake. Cotto made his bones at 140lbs, Mosley and DLH at 135lbs (into 140lbs), Mayweather at 130lbs (into 135lbs), Pacquiao from 122-130lbs. They all had achieved greatness long before setting foot in the ring under an official limit of 147lbs, yet people act like they all started out their careers as welterweights. :huh ...and his resume after Pacquiao is really not that bad, unless you are subjecting it to unfair scrutiny through a biased lens as the OP is.
i don't think those guys even crack the top 100. like i said before lets see how he handles canelo, a young up and coming fighter with 2 good legs.
:good All those guys at their peak & prime weights are formidable h2h studs matched with anyone in history. DLH or SSM @ 135 give any historical lightweight problems. (if not a severe concussion) PBF at super feather is hard for anyone to beat. Pacquiao anywhere in the 120's is a god damn nightmare. Cotto at 140lbs might have to do lots of climbing off the canvas to get it done, but he could slice a path of destruction through many of the greatest light welters. We really are privileged to have seen that much talent crammed into a mere twenty-pound range in one generation.
