Man you are reaching with venue as Cotto had the belt and can fight where he wants. Announcing? LOL? How does that have anything to do with the fight itself. Cotto can't help Marg has a bad eye from another fight either. The big gloves probably saved Margacheato from being taken out sooner. You saw his eye versus Cotto with the 10 oz gloves. All I can give you is the weight. Done.
Announcing has ALOT to do with the public perception of the fight & fighters involved. (HBO sold this fight by insulting & selling Tony's credibility.) ^Which is also the main reason he refused to quit Vs. Manny. Let's not pretend like Miguel didn't have a hard time in there either. He fought a great fight (Plan wise) but still took plenty of damage himself. Was gassing towards the end when fight was stopped... That's where the venue kicked in. All that aside Margarito was still Standing. Tough SOB.
I still don't see how the perception of the fighters had anything to do with it. Same with venue. Smoger, who's a GREAT ref, stopped the fight cause that eye was gross. Cotto was tiring but still IMO controlling the fight. The fight was NOT stopped because of venue. I see you like Margo so I won't keep debating, just like I like Cotto, but I feel the announcing team has ZERO bearing on a fight. The venue always gives a little hometown edge with confidence and score cards, but not in this case. Margo's eye was just awful. Margo was def a tough customer, fun to watch, but will be forever haunted by the tainted gloves.
Cotto = HOF! First time around, no questions asked. Margarito = First time select HALL OF SHAME! Cheater, deceiver and no class! He was lucky the fight was stopped, he was about to being KTFO! Miguel was starting to get behind his punches landing some bombs and rocking the cheatter! With 8oz gloves....Antonio would had kissed the canvas! Cotto has lots of haters.......because he is GOOD! and haters will hate that! War Miguel! Guerra Puertorro!
Yes. I do like Zab. But that has nothing to do with this. You say that zabs uppercuts were overrated. If that's true than why did Cotto feel the need to punch him in the balls? Not once but twice! Lol are you really gonna sit here and argue that they weren't intentionally thrown. When the replays clearly show Cotto looking at his Target. Gtfoh. Not only that Cotto said Zab is the hardest puncher he ever fought. So stop the bull****. Cotto has a history of being a dirty fighter. It's well documented. Zab doesn't his low blow on Floyd was personal. It wasn't a strategy. And you don't really want to get in to posting videos cause cotto has been handled a few times also clown.
apples and oranges. but i know this is too much for your fanatical mind to understand. Marg would beat the **** out of Cotto pre Pac, fact :deal
How is it any different? Enlighten us? Also, Pre Pac Margacheatho was fighting a close fight on the scorecards of their first meeting, you know, the one he was probably using loaded gloves in.
