Having your feet planted to throw a left hook to the body is not a weakness, it's the right way to do it.

No, no, no. It's harder to land the shot on fighters who aren't so flat footed.

look at the fighters throughout history who have been known for having the best left hooks to the body and go watch some times you'll see they usually plant their feet when they throw it.

    look at this shot, beautiful

  4. I didnt know that abot cotto, it sure explains a lot, I myself have fractured my shoulder once when I was 17 and was surfing while a wave caught me off balance and smashed me into a rock. I still need to be carefull when I lift weights. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for cotto to deal with that. I hope steward can help him with it.

Truly amazing if you see the list of opponents he had to face in the last four years and yet being succesful at times even with other personal family and life issues as well.

I didn't know his shoulder was in his face?
End of it, He still takes more damage than he can handle.
Cotto still loses all the fights he caught a beat down in regardless.
    (Even w/a 100% shoulder)

Love Cotto, Just stop making excuses for him.

No one is making excuses for him, not even Cotto is himself. Just something to share and show who Cotto truly is, unlike so many other fighters that make excuses. It seems like your focus is all about hating:lol:

Who was making excuses for him?....To me it seems like everybody in this thread was having a good genuine discussion until you came in here with your inferiority complex in regards to Margarito obviously.....

speaking of shoulders, gotta give props to Pascal, who had surgery to remove bone fragments from his injured shoulder and then fought Dawson and Hopkins back to back. And now will fight one of them again

That right there is an unsung warrior. At least Cotto is left handed, Pascal actually had surgery on his strong side.

I'm not saying Cotto is doing it wrong because he has to plant his feet. I know that feet must usually be planted to throw a good bodyshot. I'm saying his jab is his best punch because it can be used for all kinds of situations.

It's a good thing Pacal said the shoulder didn't bother him for the first time in a very long time in his training camp for the Hopkins fight. But the guy is a true warrior. :good

His left hook to the body is probably his strongest punch, but I agree his jab is his best punch. We are not asking Cotto to choose between the jab and the hook, they are both very good punches, but the jab is his best offensive weapon.
