Cotto's stamina faded bc Floyd was landing body shots on the inside all night. They both had good body work but Floyd constantly went to the body with right hands and jabbed to the body a lot as well. Some people saying Cotto only lost bc of his stamina need to go learn boxing. Body shots can take it out of you and add that to the constant infighting and pushing your stamina will go down. Give Floyd his just do.

I don't think Floyd's body shots were the reason Cotto slowed down the stretch.

That's just what happens to Cotto. When he's going through a high-intensity fight like that - where he's required to maintain a lot of activity - he was always gonna' slow down. Not only was he working hard on the inside trying to bully, but he was also bouncing around and running at times, too. His strategy last night required a lot of work. It was only natural for him to slow down (whether Floyd went to the body or not).

Floyd fought a ballsy fight. I don't think anyone is saying he didn't but Cotto made it very competitive and almost evened the fight up but gassed out and it was obvious.
In the 5-8th rounds, Cotto was landing great body punches and getting to Floyd's face consistently. Proof of that is lookin at Floyd's face in the corner during those rounds.

Cotto faded as usual, and Floyd took care of business from the 9th round on he won every round by good margins, 11-12th by a lot.

  8. Floyd stepped up the level of competition and struggled. Long time coming.

If anyone doesn't think Cotto(e) suffered some vicious bodyshots and was affected, he ended up going to the hospital after because of those shots.

He didn't almost even the fight.... it wasnt a close fight. A competitive fight, yes. And he was touching his face, MOSTLY with the jab. That was the most consistent thing in his arsenal. Like I said before this fight, his jab would be a factor... while he cant out jab Mayweather, pushing him against the ropes made his jab more effective.

Cotto always has had stamina problems . With his style of thinking before throwing it can become very tiring.

Floyd on the other hand - well his cardio is just about as good as it gets.

Cotto turned the tide at a pivotal time in the fight winning 3 straight rounds and shutting much of mayweathers offense down. Look at Floyd's punch output drop drastically during those rounds. The fight was 5-3 or 5-4 at that point so how do you figure it wasn't close? Had Cotto not gassed and kept it up he would have evened the fight up and potentially won. Floyd was shitting, his corner was concerned and even his wife had her hands covering her mouth, worried for Floyd.
The fight was close up till the 9-10th rounds. Floyd did not dominate whatsoever till the 11th and 12th but even then Cotto was still coming foward.
Cotto did land tons of body shots, right hands and a few hooks even.

It doesn't change the fact that Floyd was going to the body early and often on the inside. That zaps your stamina.
