    hahaha

frankly even a seasoned trainer could not do much given the situation they are up to in the later rounds. cotto have tried almost everything in his arsenal but it wouldn't dent pac. imo, the best thing that santiago could have done was to pull him out in the 9th round where cotto was smashed from pillar to post. i was screaming like hell then watching it live for the referee to stop the fight or cotto's corner to throw in the towel.

no set of instructions can help you when you're up against a guy who is infested with PEDs.

the worst is in the 12th round, he told cotto, "use your jab, jab, let him come to you, let him come to you all night, it's ok, you just keep your plan, wer'e here with you." keeping his plan was the worst thing i ever heard from a corner especially when he's getting his ass handed to him.

Steward can't teach anyone how to tie up. Hearns, Jermain Taylor, and even Andy Lee... None of them can tie up to save their lives. Literally. :patsch

cotto has needed a trainer for a lonnnnng time now. you can only go so far training yourself...

he's done damn well for himself, but the time is now. it's too bad he's planning on retiring soon. why hire a new trainer if you're only planning on fighting a couple more fights?

    to help figure out gameplans?

it seems as if cotto comes into the ring without a plan.

not just game plans but on bigger picture he needs a real trainer for his own physical health.

It's too late for MC, IMO.
(As far as learning & changing up his game/style this advanced into his career)

He may still be young in age, But not in wear.
Cotto just needs to pick his opponents wisely from here on out.
(Not sure I want to see dude take another beat down, Unless it's Margarito or a Mosley rematch!)

    :good

Cotto has never impressed me however he looked especially bad in preparing for Pac. Not once did I see his training and think he looked good. His footwork was crap, he looked sluggish, and kind of Mr. Roboto-ish. That's why Pac picked him. He was tailor-made for Pacquiao's style. No defense and can't get out of the way.
