The ability to reduce weight without exerting much effort is very important before the fight. The fact that Cotto is keeping his weight in secret shows that he's having difficulty going down in weight.

Cotto has struggled to make weight in the past but you also have to consider he used to train in Puerto Rico and deal with distractions associated with it and his uncle.

I don't think the weight will be an issue nor do I think a Pac victory will mean anything to boxing.

I have to admit after watching 24/7 I like the kid he seems geniune.

It shows he keeps his cards close to his chest, same as with his sparring. You can only assess based on facts, not conjecture. His secrecy is just part of his character. No bull****, no bluster.

Pac's win is a historic day for boxing. Winning the 7th title in 7 divisions cannot be ignored by the boxing world. I hope he wins and we'll see.

Because it is an issue - he's a 147 fighter, and the contract was geared to benefit Manny being slightly smaller. As a result, the Manny fans are going on that Cotto must be struggling to drop that extra pound you mentioned because it makes them feel better about the difficult night that lies ahead on 14 November.

I am right. There's no debate on that point. Cotto's secrecy/privacy lets him keep his cards close to his chest. Roach is bricking it really, because he's not hearing anything about what Cotto's doing. He's nothing to work with.

Cotto's psychology is much more effective than Roach's.

Don't try to tell me about losing weight. I know what I am talking about. Believe me, 1 more pound to lose should not be a problem when he is having three more weeks of training. The fact he weighted in one pound under the limit without having to do it the last time is all the evidence I need to know Cotto can make the 145lbs. Plus, look at his measurements and compare them against Manny. There is not much difference. If you still no convinced, then look at Cotto's body. Its not like he doesn't have some fatty tissue he coulld lose. I have long background and education in the subject.

Then he shouldn't be competing as a welter-weight. I still feel the weight issue will diminish a Manny win. If it doesn't matter, why did Roach push for it? To weaken Cotto.

He'd have been better have a maximum weight post-weigh in, if he was worried about a genuine weight advantage.

Not really. Cotto is not that much bigger than MAnny. People sometimes forget that Manny started boxing pro when he was a Kid. Take a look at MAnny's body 2 years ago. The amount of muscle Manny has put on is so incredible that sometimes makes wonder. His own corner said they expect to be about 149lbs fight night. IF COTTO HAVE TRAINED PROPERLY, He should be between 156-158lbs fight night. But we all know Cotto keep a little more body fat than Manny. I have been suspicious of Cotto training habits since before the Mosley fight. I am really hoping he has train as hard as it seems this time. He will need it because Manny is a gym rat. Just like Floyd. I have never seen anything like these two guys. Its like they only live to go to the gym. Simply amazing!!
