Could 135 Marquez beat Corrales/Castillo???

    Prime Marquez was126,but he's so damn good even at 35/36 he became the top lightweight in the world, stopping Casamayor,Katsidis,Baby Bull Diaz. Could he beat the Castillo or Chico of their first fight?

    JMM vs Castillo
    I used to clearly favor JLC, as he was a beast 135 pounder, but Marquez proved to be good at this weight also, & still have good power. 50/50 fight for me. JMM is the superior boxerx, while JLC was a very good boxer puncher himself, the naturally bigger and stronger man. I think the difference here is Defense. They both would get hit alot, but JMM would get hit less, and I believe he would TKO Jlc.

    JMM vs Corrales
    To me, Marquez is a few levels above Chico. JMM does everything better, except Chico has the power edge,and not by much. Corrales could drop JMM, but JMM.drops Corrales a few times also and wins a decision or late stoppage.

    JMM is a better fighter but size difference would be a problem . id favor jmm over corrales , not sure about castillo.

    I think the majority will automatically say JMM but Marquez showed vulnerability in all his top level lightweight bouts and Corrales/Castillo were great lightweights.

    Hum,those would be tough fights,id pick him by ko over Corrales but Castillo???i dont know man

    Difficult fights to predict. Corrales I think he'd be able to out-maneuver a bit more and win a competitive decision, even with a KD in there. With Castillo there will no doubt be spots where he will be forced to fight on the inside, and while JMM is quite good there, we haven't seen him operate against someone that good at that age. He showed great craft in close against Katsidis, swiveling the waist and timing counters, but Katsidis himself is not the right opponent to measure him for Castillo.

    I'm going to say if he had moved up earlier then he'd do better.

    Marquez may be able to out-box Chico, he may go down and knock Corrales down.

    Against Castillo, boy, when Marquez faces pressure-inside fighters it always make for a entertaining fight. I got Marquez SD in a FOTY contender.

    I think Jose Luis Castillo beats Marquez, but Corrales would be easy work for Marquez.

    He wouldnt stop Castillo. Prime Castillo was built of absolute granite

    Reckon he would beat both great fighters though

    Castillo fan here but El Temible is being overrated big-time based on his "win" over Floyd.

    People shouldn't be picking Marquez to stop Castillo. That's just stupid.

    He'd beat Corrales via late TKO, but he'd taste the canvas once or twice in doing so.

    Castillo beats him, IMO. JLC was a much more complete fighter than he's ever given credit for and the size would just be too much for JMM to overcome.

    Castillo a very dangerous opponent, I'm just not sure if his relentless aggression will be superior against Marquez' counter punching.
