Could a prime Chris Eubank Sr keep up with the pace GGG set against Canelo?

Eubank was fine with his guard, and combined it with lateral body and head movement to survive, without much trouble, being bombed out on the ropes on many occasions that I remember. He would return fire almost immediately after resting.

Eubank was never put down until he was past it, in the wrong division and on a losing streak, and certainly never stayed down. I dont think 3G stops him if he cant stop relatively easier Jacobs or Canelo, though Saul has iron chin like eubank.

I feel Canelo gets caught way less than Eubank did.

Not immediately at least. Gotto gear up for GGG-Canelo pre-fight and post fight breakdowns. I might get to it in time.

def eubank got lazy and took it more often, which shows his chin was better.

you are barking up the wrong tree mate, eubank had granite chin, whatever his shortcomings in other areas.

Canelo proved his chin vs GGG, and also he moves his head with the punch to take the power out of the shot, Mike McCallum used to do that also, Mike offered Eubank a unification bout after he destroyed Watson, but Chris declined like so many others.

yeh well turning down a fight against a top ten ATG doesnt mean you have a weak chin.

Eubank had a great chin but his stamina was bad, he flagged badly v Watson in both of their bouts.

GGG threw virtually no body punches against Canelo in either fight. Can't give him credit for things he did but didn't do against Canelo.

Benn's body punches weren't hard? Okay...

I feel GGG may have stopped more fighters with body shots than Benn simply because he`s thrown more and is better at landing them, in fact I don`t think Benn has ever stopped a fighter with body shots, look at how McCallum gassed Watson with body shots compared to Benn`s punches mainly being aimed at Watson`s head in his dreadful display when losing to Watson in `89.

    You’re saying Benn’s dreadful display.
Benn had been knocking over everybody put in front of him up to that point, he simply fought against Watson like he had in all his previous fights, nothing wrong with that.
Watson was a little bit under the radar but had fought better men than Nigel had fought and was a bit more rounded and experienced.
The plan was obviously to let Benn punch himself out which happened, I wouldn’t say it was a dreadful performance from Benn just inexperience.

And that's pretty much how most reasonable observers saw it, at the time.

Eubanks always fought in spurts he liked to take half a round off,GGG wouldn't let him do that,he would bang him up and take a clear decision.
