Could a prime Mike Tyson actually dominate Ali?

A nuthugger who doesn't even watch his hero's fights. Tyson was pushed around and man handled in most of his fights. Come on Sandra you must do better....

Both Holyfield and Douglas out fought Tyson, whenever Tyson opened up both would come back with more. They were superior fighters in every department.

Superior fighters on the night they fought him yes, but overall? No. (The argument can be made for Evander however) If you seriously believe Douglas is superior to Tyson then you are extremely biased, Tyson blasts Douglas away in a rematch under 5 rounds. And Holyfield fought a businessman who had fought 8 rounds in five years, only in it for the money, completely different fighter to the one in the 80s, no jab no head movement, threw one punch at a time, footwork became non existent, hmm sounds like the kid who turned up against buster. Tyson post prison just relied on his natural ability, and he did quite well with it. But to compare this to the prime killer of the 80s is ludicrous. Tyson is heavily underrated on this forum to my surprise, a lot of users have extreme bias and personal grudges against fighters and I find it hilarious. Not many people ****yse fighters styles

I'm saying both were superior fighters. Douglas dominated Tyson that much there's no evidence there at all that he'd ever beat him. True if Douglas turned up weighing 500lb Tyson waxes him. The Douglas that showed up in Tokyo likely beats any version of Tyson.

Tyson was strong, but I think it was intimidation that kept big guys like Bruno, Smith, and Ruddock from pushing him back. They were afraid of getting hit.

Bruno didn't push him back? He was ragging Tyson all over. Something Asser and Sandra could only dream of doing.....

Bruno landed one punch that wobbled Tyson for about 2 seconds.

Yes he did, Bruno's only moment of glory in a combined 8 rounds. He held Tyson for both fights and was even penalized by Mills Lane in the second fight for doing so. Never, ever, did Bruno push Tyson back or outmuscle him. Both fights are on youtube in case anyone's forgotten!

I seem to remember Bruno being penalized by Richard Steele in the first fight too, in the very first round maybe .... and that's supposedly Bruno's glorious round. But I might be mistaken.

Ali's change of style is an overstated thing. He trained for speed and movement against Foreman, but adapted when the heat, small ring and slow canvas didn't favor that style. That was an Ali that was around the same size he was in his mid 20's.

For Frazier III, he clearly had planned for a more stationary contest, but that version of him was about as close to his prime as Tyson was against Lewis.

Yes, you are correct. Steele warned Bruno for excessive holding and/or rabbit punching Tyson's head in the first.

If you watch Evanders interviews he humbly acknowledges that he never really got to face the real Mike Tyson. He talks more in awe of Tyson compared to Lewis

I think the version of Tyson that fought Bruno 2 can kill any version of lenni. Just needs to land his combos once inside and he will close the show very quickly

Ali was not 225 pound when he fought Frazier in Manilla. The weigh in was days prior to the fight. After drying out Ali was probably around 220. Frazier around 210.

Holyfield and Tyson both acknowledge each other's greatness while both neglect to mention Lennox Lewis. For some reason a lot of the heavyweights do this to Lennox.
