I think a fair question would be "Could a prime Mosley knock a Prime Mayweather out?" . And the answer would be no.

Shane caught Floyd with two hard shots, buckled him but couldn't drop him...Floyd then proceeds to walk Shane down and kick his ass for the next ten rounds...

How exactly can you almost knock someone out that you didn't even drop...not to mention Floyd wasn't prime his damn self..

A prime mayweather boxes a prime Mosley's ears off...Shane would have been lucky to land anything significant against a younger, faster Floyd...both in their lightweight days were beasts but I'd put my money on Floyd with no hesitation... Shane looked great against fighters who stood in front of him and couldn't match his speed...stop the non sense...

    Lightweight Mosley is overrated.

Void thinks so, or he wouldn't have posticipated that fight for YEARS waiting for Mosley to worn down.

And considering how he got hurt by single punches, it is really plausible, yes.

Ya if you conveniently forget the fact that mayweather was chasing a mosley fight for a long time

This PED cheater could have knocked out anyone if he hit them right. Without them, he is/was a B+ fighter.

What division are you considering prime Mosley to have been?

Nope. Shane is a HOF fighter, but Floyd is clearly the faster of the 2, better footwork, exponentially better defense. He's just a better overall boxer than a prime Shane and has greater technical ability.

I would've loved to seen them fight at 135 lbs where Shane was a kingpin in the LW division for quite some time before he moved up in weight.

Floyd beat up on Mosley right after Shane had obliterated Margarito.

People always say 135, but he was facing lesser opposition and looked great (barring the Rivera fight) at WW until the Forrest bout. DLH in 2000 was by the best fighter he had faced up to that point and he looked sensational.

I think you can just argue 1998-2001, when he fought at both divisions.

Without a doubt mosley would have stopped floyd. Floyd would have dropped in there fight if mosley wasnt there to hold on to go watch again!
