This would have been a moot point had Fury rematched Wlad as he had contractually agreed to. When Wlad finally gathered his wits about him in the 12th he had no problems in landing solid shots on Fury. At that point it was Fury that was at a loss as to how to deal with Wlad. I have no doubt whatsoever that Klitschko would have settled Fury's hash in the rematch. And let's not forget that this version of Wlad was not only old, and mentally fragile, but that people had noticed was visibly deteriorating for a while already. It was pointed out in the Jennings fight and guys like me wrote it off as a bad night. The truth is though, that Wlad had lost a step by then. *Edit: As for Haye, I agree with you that Wlad was safety first. On the other hand, Haye was as effective as a labrador puppy that night because of Wlad's approach.
What exactly IS "prime Fury"? The guy that fought Seferi? You dunce, that's the best Fury has EVER looked. I guess the Fury in your homo-erotic fantasies might be better, but he also doesn't exist
The difference was that his wife wasn't getting booked into clinics because she was suicidally depressed. It's kind of hard to focus on training when half your mind is back home, wondering if your wife was going to still be alive when you went home. Fury also had an attack of depression when he realised what was waiting for him in the rematch.
Honestly, I think Fury is much more than a lucky bum, he has some definite skills and he was pretty damn good against Wlad. I do however agree that Wlad would have waxed him in the rematch. I don't know whether Fury will ever regain his form again.
This. Exactly. Great post. Wlad was missing AJ by a whisker with his left all night long. You could visibly see that he was slower than he'd been years before. He was 41. Is it any surprise? Five years earlier and he would have knocked AJ out in the first 3 and people would have been laughing at the "big bodybuilder bum that thought he could box". In actual fact I do think Joshua is very good and that he has some excellent reflexes that saved his ass against Wlad that night. But AJ will suffer the same fate. As his skills get better, his reflexes will decline. Eventually age or an outlier opponent will get him.
Wlad's always been cautious, but he also always knew just how to impose himself on his opponent to win rounds without exposing himself to unnecessary risk. It was a tactic that relied on perfect timing, sharpness, and ring command. As he got older those things inevitably went on the slide. Also, following the death of Manny Steward, Wlad started letting bad habits creep in again. Maybe you're right and Fury would always beat him, but I think giving Wlad that extra touch of prime speed and sting would have allowed him to get off first, and that alone completely turns the fight around.
so his wife was depressed around the time of that ONE fight, which just happens to a defeat... but not around any other time.. Great argument, good luck wth that. hayden and fury plotted together for wlad to lose yeh?
u r agreeing with the forum nutcase luis Fernando. Kinda like trying to get backup from Nigel Farage. good luck.
One child only, so far. One incident of post partum depression. https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrit...stpartum-depression-its-really-scary-2015299/ I'm glad that you acknowledge the validity of my argument.
