    Gift against Ray Mercer!!!???

If that's a gift, what were Ali's wins against Norton in the rubber match, and his fights with Jimmy Young, Earnie Shavers, Doug Jones?

Not nonsense. I thought Mercer won the fight.

But it does help answer the question. If Mercer could do so well....

This. And if we're talking about the big, heavy flat footed Lennox Lewis, then I think it's an easy pick . You just have to look at this fight stylistically. Lennox does best against smaller guys who stand in front of him where he can use his height and reach to his advantage. He won't have much of an advantage against Ali besides power. Ali's quick foot work, in and out style, quick reflexes, and rapid combinations would bother the hell out of Lennox.

I think the younger, nimble Lennox Lewis would cause more problems for Ali than the later version.

They were all as close or closer than Mercer-Lewis. Mercer won rounds but didn't win more than Lewis.

I met Ali in 1969 and stood next to him. He was wearing normal shoes and so was I. Trust me. He was at least 6'3" tall in 1969!

Terrell was big but he was **** in the ring. Does not even qualify in the discussion. Ali from 66-69, the mystery years, would have an excellent chance of taking Lewis. Outside of that, I would favor Lewis.

Ray Mercer was not a big heavyweight, neither was Holyfield. Both of those men were easily able to handle Lewis' size. Neither was as mobile as Ali either. Ray and Holy both fought more flat footed and stationary. Holy boxed more in his youth but was not as mobile.
Lewis had trouble by both Bruno and Mercer's jab, does anyone actually think Ali wouldnt give him hell?
What exceptionally skilled fighter did Lewis completely dominate?? None really and never faced anyone close to the level of Ali.
