Could Alvarez vs Golovkin end up like Garcia vs Matthysse?

Now Golovkin is a lot better than Matt ever was, but Alvarez is a lot better than Garcia too.

I think put Golovkin vs any of Alvarez's opponents and he beats them quicker, but could Alvarez pull it off between them? he seems the sharper guy. The only thing is, Alvarez's footwork is poor and Golovkin's is amazing. I pick Golovkin to win but it will be a war!

Footwork is the only thing? How about jab, ring generalship, power, chin, strength, reach, punching variation and technique, stamina, adapting the game, variety? Canelo has ONLY speed over Golovkin but It's not like he's as fast and quick as RJJ to give GGG problems.

GGG is a better boxer than Canelo, the only thing that Canelo has on Golovkin is his headmovement which is pretty good.

Garcia was far better than Matthysse, at any point in their careers so your point is absolutely moot. Only idiots thought Matthysse would knock Garcia out in 3 :patsch

Canelo will last the distance. Not sure if he wins though.

No, it will end like Matthysse vs Postol (just earlier) with Canelo being Matthysse.

It is very possible there is a huge difference in beating Lemieux or Geale and beating Canelo.

Canelo has been fighting high quality boxers and handling his own, GGG wouldn't even be the best boxer Alvarez would have been in with.

I think it ends up a close fight but for all the people caught up in the hype, high level experience vs top fighters shouldn't be overlook.

Canelo hasn't faced anybody of his own size yet except bloated clueless Kirkland.
