Even Ward himself has said he's a PRIZE fighter (indicating he wants to fight for big money) rather than a PRIDE fighter (indicating he wants legacy), thus he wishes he had the popularity of Paul Smith, let alone Carl Froch. Unlucky.

 

If Froch was getting sued 10 million from his promoter, provided they won the court case, he'd be able to afford it easily based on his last fight. That's probably most of what Ward has earned in his career- if not less, and Ward has a family to feed of about 24.

And because Ward can't draw flies to ****, with his lifeless personality, his boring fighting style, his abysmal TV ratings, his fanbase of 12 and his inability to go outside the borders of athletic commissions that allow PED use, he won't be able to get anyone in the ring that would command big paydays.

So with that said, Ward himself would probably disagree with you.

 

You say greatness doesn't matter. There careers ended today- Froch has done enough to warrant first ballot Hall of Fame status. Ward has not, despite their head to head record (much like Cotto would get in the HOF, and Trout would not), he's not 1st ballot, although may sneek in during quiet years- not a given though.

Not at all. I liked Ward when he won, but his deluded behaviour after he did has put me off him.
