Cuevas surpassed it. Lokk at the resluts vs common opponents all of which Cuevas fought way before.

Félix Trinidad is probably the hardest hitting Welterweight since Hearns.

Cuevas did have great power. I remember how Cuevas missed Tommy with everything, but his left hook would come out and Tommy would just lean back and avoid it. Hearns sure sacrificed being close to punches just to land his own. He avoided Cuevas, but many guys not as great would have been hit with that punch and the fight over.

I dont think so, somehow after the amateurs hearns put on a little bit of muscle and got the punching power of a heavy. Hearns probably sold his soul to the devil now I dont know how that works.

Sugar Ray had it in his lefthook and 80% in his right hand. The man could drop guys when he was backing up.

I'll throw out Artie Levigne as a dark horse. The guy had depleted uranium in his knuckles like Hearns, but his ability to deliver the big bombs wasn't as good as Hearns.

But he put SRR down for a possible long count, and he was widely believed to have contributed to the death of Jimmy Doyle in sort of a welterweight version of Baer vs. Ernie Shaaf.

I'm fairly certain Levine was a Middleweight but yes he could crack.
That is why it's hard to overate Robinson's power. He knocked out Levine giving away about 10 lbs.

Cuevas , he just couldn't get to Hearns, had he landed on Tommy he would have splattered onto the canvas like pick up sticks

Cuevas possibly hit harder. The man literally broke bones when he landed cleanly with that hook. Probably the most damaging single punch in the history of the welterweight div. But Hearns right hand, and Hearns jab are the hardest of the other two of the three most used punches.
