But as a top tier HW boxer, Patterson probably hit harder than a top MMA guy

Floyd had better punching mechanics than any heavyweight MMA fighter, his hook got all his body weigt in it.

    Patterson was 6 foot 195lb.
    Kharitonov was 6'4 and 250lb

He's fought a who's who of punchers including guys bigger than himself and including top boxers. Did you not see his fights against Hrgovic and Helenius? Both of those guys hit harder than Patterson and he ate all they cared to throw at him. He took punches and strikes from K1 legend 6'11 250+lb Semmy Schilt and stayed on his feet and won. You can believe what you like but I'm telling you now Kharitonov is a tank; Patterson might be able to outbox him but he's not going to bother him with power.

Patterson was a lot smaller than Helenius and Filip but also a lot better too.

Liddell could and he was only 220. Silva, Hunt,CroCop etc could too.

We are talking 1950s/60s standards here. He was under 200lbs. Modern HWs in both boxing and MMA are practically walking science experiments compared to guys back then.

Silva wasn`t great in a boxing ring, Patterson displayed far more power withboxing gloves, Silva never fought a fighter with Floyd`s power, skill and speed.

60`s standard? Liston had an 84 inch reach and probably hit harder than any UFC fighter except Ngannou.

Okay, but UFC weight classes work differently to boxing weight classes, middleweight UFC fighters are heavier than boxers who fight under 160, A.Silva was about the same size as Floyd so it`s still a valid comparison anyway, thanks.

Yeah that's why I made the comparison - but Silva isn't a heavyweight MMA fighter, your point is moot. Liddell, Hunt, CroCop, Wand, Kharitonov, could absolutely beat some Heavyweight fighters. Dempsey who I consider overrated would IMO get smacked up by say, Dos Santos type.

I wouldnt be surprised at all if Lewis, Pavlovich and even Rozenstruik and Tuivasa had more power tbh.

Theres more to boxing than just your capacity to put someones lights out with one shot.
