Drago lost to a natural light heavyweight who never used modern training techniques. No chance for Ivan im afraid.

If you think Vitali-Byrd was bad, u must've been horrified by Lewis-McCall/Rahman

Not really. Lewis showed he could be arrogant and lazy. But when he was focused......well all anyone needs to do is watch the Rahman rematch.

Wlad, Vitali, Povetkin, probably Valuev would have an excellent chance of lasting the distance. Also I remember a Russian called Nikolai Kulpin who was a tank for punishment who might well go the distance.

Before people jump in and say TKO6, the thread starter asked "could". "Could" Vitali go the distance? Absolutely. In fact I think that he "could" whup Lewis' ass as well. The fact that he lost doesn't preclude either possibility.

Let's not forget these people all went the distance:

    Occasio
    Billups
    Tucker
    Mercer
    Mavrovic
    Holyfield
    Tua
    Rahman
    McCall

Some of these are pretty tough dudes, but I would pick Vitali over all of them in terms of durability.

edit: OK, maybe not Mercer. Mercer was one of the toughest guys ever to slip on a pair. :think

Hell, even Maskaev might have a chance of landing the lottery punch and getting Lewis out of there ... although I would not bet on it ...

Sure. Why not? Mavrovic was able to do it, so I'm sure there would be at least a few Russian fighrters who would have been able to do it.

Russia is a country and Asia is a continent. OR ask the OP to change it to former Soviet Union

A lot of fighters went the distance with Lummox. His ko percentage isn't even that high.

Even a bread hustler took all his best shots and still kept coming forward :patsch :think
