to out-box and out-think Whitaker in the ring. Sure, somebody might out work him or maybe KO him.. but can you name another fighter from any era that would outbox pea? I think even if I made it 147... I can't see hardly anybody out-boxing him either. Some might say Hearns.. but that isn't because hearns is a better boxer.. it's because of his combination of physical tools and boxing ability that he might do so. Same with SRR. However, for now lets just make it 130 - 140

Favourite? NOPE Mayweather's speed and longer arms/height are the biggest test for him in a pure boxing match but I see him winning

Mayweather is a lesser challenge than most 'greats' for Pea IMO.

I'd pick no one to outmanoeuvre Pea around these weights.

Shame we don´t have any footage of Willie Joyce.....it seems like he was a great boxer and perhaps we could mention him here........
Again, probably not a favorite as well......

Watch Barney Ross in the first few rounds against Armstrong (before he got swamped) and consider the savvy. Ross was as pretty as Fay Wray in there and look at the gorillas he was handling.

What about Willie Pep and Nicolino Locche?

How would they fair against Whitaker?

I'd give Howard Davis Jr a strong shot.

Armstrong, floyd or arguello have a chance.

Pryor might beat him but not by outboxing him.

I know you don't like alexis in these matchups against slick elusive awesome footwork types.

I guess I just rate him higher than you.

That being said 135 I have pea as my h2h king.

I just don't consider him at 130 or 140 because he didn't do enough in those weight classes to merit discussion imo.

The way he performed at 135 and 147 is enough to merit discussion against the top 135 and 147 boxers.

I only rate guys h2h in divisions they left a significant mark in.

It'd be like saying robinson is a h2h god at 154. I'm not into that kind of subjection.
