And far more durable also, which may give him an edge on the inside where major punishment can be dealt

Cuevas was considered ultra durable until hearns ruined him mentally. but cuevas in his prime had a top chin.

Still though, my statement stands, there is a gap in durability between these two fighters. Kid Gavilan

Gavilan's lack of power (28 Ko's in 108 win's), would not sway Cuevas, Who was unconcerned about his opponents power. Gavilan would surely use his speed and craftyness. But if Cuevas is attacking without regard, he would eventually land a brutale left hook. Like I said before only in a brawling senario. Gavilan would have to be very foolish to brawl with Cuevas. When he could easily outbox him.

I havent said anything about who the better brawler is, but even Cuevas' left hook no way stops him, Trinidad and Hearns probably couldnt stop Gavilan imo. His durability is too great, the man was a great brawler aswell, his combos on the inside are of the finest ever at 147, regardless of his lack of power, this comined with that durability makes him a great brawler imo. Thats all i meant there

Gavilan had one of the best chins in the history of the sport, another thing to take into consideration. And while his KO percentage is low, don't make the mistake of thinking Gavilan couldn't crack when he wanted to. Watch his stoppage of Gil Turner.

I already mentioned him. Chin and heart are two bigger attributes in a brawl than power.

True, and his ability to slip and roll punches, all while setting up perfect counters at a relatively high rate, was amazing at his best. Very difficult to get the best of this guy in a war.

He would, that's a better shout than LaMotta as far as I can see. But it kind of begs the question, "what is a brawl"? Is Greb to mobile to be considered a pure brawler? I think if he abandoned his mobility he would lose.

I guess points yeah, it would be a fun one! And I probably favour Harada slightly having thought about it. The guy is a bit limited, but he's probably got enough to deal with McGovern...or not.
