Could anyone come back to the heavyweight division from the past and make and immediate impact?

Just wondering. In the past, there was always someone good enough to drop in and make some noise...maybe provide and easy money-making title defense for a champ. But the division was so bad for so long, I honestly can't think of anyone plausible.

probably too much, much as i'm a fan of his and think a prime Vitali would stomp them all down

It's been a long time since I've respected the HW division as a whole.

They don't have the talent spread out like they use to in which there was 5-10 fighters we really would look forward to seeing in the ring. There aren't any of the "characters" that made you feel like tuning in just to see what he would do while promoting himself (like Shannon Briggs)......

USA tried to make Wilder their top dog, but those who respect and understand the sport knew he was fighting no one and understood what would happen once he entered the ring with a legit to elite skill set. Andy Ruiz lost his drive to grind after his upset win over AJ in 2019. I think he's fought twice since. I think their focus now is on pushing Jared Anderson as the next American HW superstar, but I just don't see the buzz as of yet. There's also Michael Hunter......

Honestly if the heavyweight bout doesn't involve Usyk or even Fury, I don't have a urge to pay my $$ to see it. Parker, Dubois, Zhang, etc... good names, but none are box office. I guess there's AJ as well, but he's been up and down the last few years.

Rocky Marciano. First comeback fight and his record becomes 49-1 (43). His historical impact changes. Negatively for him I’m afraid.

    Sugar Nikolai Valuev!
But seriously, all the truly great he ones are way too old.

Technically, Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko can make an immediate impact due to their WBC Champion emeritus status. They won't win due to them being way too old, but they have the right to an immediate title shot. That would immediately impact the division (very negatively)

Love him but he's in his 50s I think.

It's too bad because if he could have kept that fire he showed in his comeback against Cameron he could have gone on to get a title.
