Tyson done embarassing things to well established boxers at a young age because of his style and aggressiveness. The Bull always comes out to kill but eventually gets outsmarted.
Pretty impressive for Tyson. Berbick's chin was very underrated. Rahman couldn't even put away a 40 year old Berbick.
Bernado Mercado KO'd Berbick more impressively. Berbick got up from Tysons punches, ****ed as he was. Against Mercado the ref said he coulda counted to 100
That's a good point but Berbick was only a 11-0 fighter at that time, he had no experience against top fighters in the pro ranks.
It's not that Berbick is all that good, it's just Tyson doing what he did at 20 is an abnormality. Even the previous youngest champion, Patterson, was still being groomed at that age as a Light Heavy.
Key word. Could. Yes. W Klitschko, very powerful and winner of the super heavyweight Olympic gold medal. F Patterson, one of the youngest heavyweight champions Joe Louis, a fast developing puncher.
Tyson was a freak of nature. Most heavyweights are not even fully grown from a physical standpoint at 20, nevermind with almost their entire set of skills developed and running at full capacity as well.
Perhaps the shorter heavyweights blessed with power and speed develop devlope a bit faster than most?
