Could anyone else have stood toe to toe with Jackson the same way that McCallum did?

I almost never second guess a ref, and do not intend to do so here, but he seemed to have enough left to be given a chance to ride out the attack and return fire when McCallum tired. These things typically happen in ebbs and flows. I feel like he deserved one more flow from his side. But I was not in the ring with them.

Yea if I'd he had to. Marvelous really was a boxer first and foremost in his prime. Look at how he fought Briscoe. But your right if he had no other recourse he would take it to the MidEvil level. Like he said 'you gotta hit me with the ring post and I still am not going anywhere."

McCallum was a proven 15 round fighter. I don't believe he'd gas out. The ref saved Jackson for another day and he went on to have a fine career No way he was going to beat the much more seasoned and iron chinned McCallum.
